I guess it's funny how we coping
In a night where nothing's possible
We still do a little joking.
She said "hey how's it going?
Didn't know that you were open."
Time had stopped, time had frozen
I still thought that we were joking.
I said "Baby, I'm just closing.
I don't got not time for notions."
She said, "Tell me truth cause I
Got you a promotion."
Now I'm sipping this pine and ginger.
Been promoted, getting this bonus.
Her world's a lot bigger
Losing time, losing my focus.
Guess it's funny how we coping
Always serious, never joking
This job comes with overtime
That's what I get for not knowing
