You didn't even look at me today.

Not once.

I guess it was due to the awkwardness of yesterday.

After all, we had talked after two whole months, after that night.

Until yesterday it was just longing glances from my side and ignorant looks from yours.

But I was used to it.

When I was walking home today, I saw your mother.

She is the sweetest person ever but I didn't want to talk to her now especially after knowing that I had let her down by breaking the promise I had made to her.

So I looked the other way and kept walking.

Until she called my name.

She looked happy to see me which I took as a good sign.

She walked upto me and smiled brightly. 'Hello dear. I haven't seen you in a while. So how have u been ?' she asked.

I guessed you hadn't told her about the break-up yet.
My suspicions were confirmed when she continued.

'You never stop by to see Caleb these days. We miss you so much. Has my boy been troubling you ? Well, don't mind him, you're welcome to come by anytime you want.'

This is the best thing about your mom.
She has a heart of gold.

To not have her disappointed in either of us, I lied and said 'Everything's fine. Me and Caleb usually hangout in school and due to a lot of homework I can't really come over that often.'

'Oh, that's bullshit. You'll come over whenever you have time. Get it ?'

'Okay. I'll try.' I said.

'Good. Now honey I'll see you soon. I really have to get home now. See ya. And remember to stop by whenever you can.' with that she hugged me and then left.

Meeting her made me realise that I missed this. Hanging out with your mom, having her approval, everything.

I remember how she told me I was the first girl you had ever brought home.

And I remember the promise I had made to her saying that I'd never give up on what we have,
never give up on you.

And I felt so special and lucky to have had that talk with her.

But then reality sets in and I realise that I'm not special, just the first of many to come.

But then reality sets in and I realise that I'm not special, just the first of many to come
