It was 4:30 in the morning and the two laid awake. This was something that was common for the two when either one couldn't sleep they'd lay awake together. Sometimes no words were exchanged just being in each other's embrace was enough.

Kamilles phone rung on the night stand and she let Abdul get it instead of getting up.

"Hello?" He answered without looking to see who it was

"You two get up and come on over." Ms. Pat spoke into the phone

"Momma it's 4 in the morning." Ace said almost whining

"I know I told you we were hitting the road early now see you in an hour."

Ace put the phone back on the stand next to his bed and rested his hand back on Kamille's lower back and slowly massaged it like he was doing before his mom had called.

"What did she say?"

"We have an hour to get over there." He said closing his eyes

Kamille sat up on his lap and looked at him. He opened one eye and peeped to see if she was actually staring at him and she was. Her big brown eyes were now showing nothing but exhaustion.

"You tired boo?" Ace asked giving her his full attention.

"Yeah but I'm going to go ahead and get dressed I'll just sleep on the way down." she said taking the sheet wrapping it around her bare body going into the bathroom.

Ace went right behind her as they both completed their hygiene routines and got dressed.

"You got everything right?" Ace asked looking over his shoulder at Kamille as they walked towards the door.

"Yeah."

"Let's go then." He said opening the door so they could leave out the unit.

On the way down on the elevator Kamille stood in Ace's arms for the short ride down to the car garage.

As they walked outside Ace unlocked and opened Kamille's door for her.

"Thanks babe." She said yawning

"You wanna stop at the gas station or some?" Ace asked starting the car.

"If you want to. I'm sure they'll stop somewhere on the way down."

"You right." Ace said increasing his speed trying to hurry to get to his mom's house so Kamille could lay down and he could eat.

"Go to sleep man." Ace said looking over at Kamille who was failing terrible at trying to fight her sleep.

"I'm good." She said slightly smiling at him

The radio wasn't on so they sat in silence. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence or anything but you could tell a lot was going through both of their minds.

Twenty minutes later Ace pulled up to his mom's house to see two big sprinter vans sitting in the front yard along with a few more cars.

"Go ahead I need to make a phone call." Ace said to Kamille

"Everything okay?"

"Yeah."

Kamille got out the car grabbing her purse and phone walking towards the house.

Ace knew better than to handle anything business related around Kamille because he didn't even want her to have to worry about nothing he had going on. Especially not the kind of business he was in.

Ace called Markees and he answered almost on the first ring.

"I need you to hold it down until I get back alright?" He spoke into the phone.
