To Kill Or Not To Kill

"I mean, Katherine and Mary looked just like the both of you. Mary, even made her hair change color to look like yours, Buffy. It was creepy."

At Bonnie's words, Buffy couldn't help but groan, a shiver rushing down her spine at the mention of the witch and the vampire.

While she thankfully knew what Mary really looked like, thanks to months of drawing that burned face, she had still yet to see her own face being reflected back by some European witch.

Honestly, given that today she was planning on finally telling Stefan about Angel that had to be her only focus.

Originally, she had planned to take Stefan away from Mystic Falls for the day to tell him, purposely soaking him up with a 70s rock cover band concert first. At least she had been planning to until Caroline had texted her last night to demand that she made sure Elena and Bonnie did not destroy all of the hard work she had put into the carnival.

Caroline was a perfectionist so she had sent Buffy in as her personal spy.

Buffy had been sending giving hourly updates until a few hours ago when Caroline had gone weirdly silent.

Which, hopefully, meant the drugs the hospital had given her had finally kicked in letting her get some rest.

"I'm out. Today, Mary does not exist." Buffy argued as she adjusted the stuffed toy snakes in her arms.

"Well, they do." Bonnie countered before glancing over at Elena who continued to give orders to the other volunteers like Caroline had possessed her or something.

Caroline would surely be proud.

"They didn't just resemble you guys..." Bonnie continued "Katherine was just like you Elena...not just an ancestor and Mary...just could just switch between two faces and her power? In one word: Yikes."

Buffy snickered at the response.

Truth be told, she was kind of glad that she hadn't met Mary yet. The idea of being alone in a room with her just freaked her out.

Mainly due to the risk of Sunnydale Halloween flashbacks and her own English accent.

"Maybe she was jealous, 'cause I'm prettier than her. So she changed her face."

Bonnie couldn't help but snort. Buffy really did have a way of making everything funnier, however, that amusement faded at Elena's next words.

"It's creepy."

"Well, how do we know that they're not still out there pretending to be the both of you?" Bonnie questioned, making both Elena and Buffy freeze.

Okay, she might have a very fair point there.

"Buffy, Mary's been studying you for years. Who knows what she knows about you."

Buffy couldn't help but groan at that, just the idea of Mary lurking in the shadows watching her sent waves of horror down her spine, it was beyond creepy "I try not to remember that little fact. It's creepy, like horror movie-type creepy. Or worse, Snyder-type creepy."

"Buffy's right." Elena added in agreement. Katherine and Mary knew more about them.

Right now, the witch and the vampire had all the power.

"We need to keep moving and not be tortured by the not knowing. And get these prizes to the ring toss."

With that, Elena turned to Buffy and held out the large box of toys causing the blonde to raise an eyebrow in disbelief. Sometimes having superpowers ready sucked "You're kidding right?"

"Nope." Elena assured her shoving the box into her arms before lifting the top toy off of the box so she could still see Buffy's face "You're the one with super strength. And now that your arm is healed, I say we use that."

Buffy couldn't help but groan as she adjusted the boxes in her arm before puffing out a small bit of air to get the fluff of a stuffed animal out of her face. Now that her arm was officially out of the sling thanks to the mixture of Bonnie's tea and Willow's herbal paste she was back to being the muscle in the Summers family "Great, you're just gonna load me up aren't you?"

Elena just grinned and nodded.

Bonnie snorted slightly before taking the top two boxes out of Buffy's arms so she could at least see where she was going.

"Have either of you talked to Damon since..."

Buffy quickly cut off Bonnie's awkward voice "He tried to kiss me and broke two extra bones in my arm?"

"Yep."

"Not since Stefan picked him up." It may have been only 18 hours, but she had made sure to avoid all contact with Damon until he finally understood the meaning of the word no.

If he ever expected to be friends with a woman he couldn't just jump her and shove her up against a wall when he was sad.

Not a big turn-on.

At the mention of he who should not be named Elena clenched her jaw tightly "He attached you, and tried to force himself on you, Buffy."

"Not arguing. Remind me cuz, who didn't want me to murder him?" She could list 10 separate occasions where Elena had stopped her from murdering Damon just off the top of her head.

Elena couldn't help but groan "I can't win this argument can I?"
