~ Megan's POV ~

Finals. It was the week of the semester in which every student pursuing a higher education absolutely dreaded.

And I was no exception.

My head was squeezed between my two hands as I desperately peered down into my History of International Relations textbook. At this point, I felt confident I knew the material, but a little last-minute studying couldn't hurt. Although, Sam was convinced my head was about to combust from knowledge.

And yes, she believed that was possible.

She had seen me at my absolute worst and was always there for support, even when she couldn't understand what I was going through. Fortunately, Blair shed a little light on the stress of finals week, and Sam was more than willing to be there for me, however I needed.

She was always good at giving me my space I needed to study, but I couldn't help but think it was exceptionally quiet.

It was almost a little too quiet.

I flipped to the last page and went over my jotted notes. It all made sense now, but I knew once I got that exam in front of me that would change. Wording would be different, perspectives would change and there was always a possibility of spacing... but worrying about it would only stress me out further.

And as of now, I had a giant cramp in my neck from peering down at my book for so long, resulting in a headache.

"Babe," Sam called.

I looked up to see her freshly showered and leaning on the doorframe. Those deep blue eyes were locked on me and I couldn't help but momentarily forget about exams and stress in that moment.

She stepped out of our room. "You need a break."

"I just need a few more-"

"Megan," she interrupted. "You've been at it for hours."

I couldn't help but smile to myself. The fact that she was worried about my mental state only caused my heart to flutter.

"Come," she demanded. "I have something for you."

Oh, and her demands may turn me on just a little bit.

I stood and reluctantly followed her into our bedroom.

But when she disappeared into the bathroom, I wondered what she had up her sleeve.

When I joined her, the sound of light music filled my ears. A bubble bath was drawn, candles were lit and a glass of wine sat, coaxing me to forget all about studying and slip into the tub.

"Sam..." I said, unsure if I had time to enjoy this.

She turned to me. "You need a break. Seriously. I'm worried you're gonna have an aneurysm from information overload or something."

I released a small laugh. "I just have a little more to read-"

"Megan," she reiterated.

My body heated up at her demanding tone.

She stepped closer to me and her hard-ass demeanor fell. My breath caught in my throat as she closed the gap between our bodies. Her lips came really close to mine as her warm hands teased against the edge of my Mizzou t-shirt. Suddenly, studying was the last thing on my mind.
