Chapter 18

I walked into my house and felt relief!
Emily is home so I'm happy she is safe after a wild night
I went upstairs to my room and decided if I should go shower and get on with my day or go to sleep again then wake up and then take a shower then get on with my day

I was so lost in my thoughts I hadn't seen my phone buzz

It's been about 1 hour since I left kanes house
Thank god it's like that kid didn't know when to stop
I looked at my text and it's him texting me asking me if I had time to talk with him

If he could see my face right now I'm literally not even joking about the matter and he wants to talk like he didn't promise me he wouldn't lay his hands on me

I replied saying

Nina: Kane I honestly don't want to talk to you now or ever again until I feel safe around you again you scared the shit out of me last night and I can't be around that

Kane: please hear me out

Nina: give me space. I just need space Kane. Please.

And he didn't reply I'm sure he got the hint
I got in bed and took a nap
Sleeping all my problems away

I woke back up at around 3 pm sad to say I would call Emily but I know she's sleeping right now still

So I decided to go to moms bakery shop and go get a cupcake maybe

I got up and freshened up then dressed and got into my car

I drove to my shop

And it smelled lovely
I always loved being here , this is where my mom was happy
And this is where I'm happy because she's happy

"Hey mommy "
"Hi baby I'm so glad you came to see me today "
"Can I help today ?"
She smiled at me and handed me a apron
"Of course you can"

So I spent the rest of my day whipping up cakes, brownies and whatever else was on the menu
It was closing time and I helped mom close up
We closed and cleaned up the place then locked up the shop
She walked to her car I walked towards mines
We both followed each other home and walked in and I took a slice of the apple pie that was sitting there

She turned on the tv and the news was on
"Boy body found dead near the lake brutally murdered and a bloody face. We are investigating hoping to find the person."

Omg this is so sad

I turned to my mom who had the same expression I did

I changed the channel on river dale after I logged into my Netflix account

I sat in the living room with the lights turned off and watched away

My mother went upstairs to sleep
And soon after I did to.

The next 4 weeks has been great I've spent so much time with my mom and Emily that I almost forgot about my issues with Kane

I haven't seen him nor heard from him personally
But he does send me gifts even though he doesn't show himself to me
I don't accept them when I find them or his guards give them to me
I know he still keeps tabs on me because it's what Kane does

With it being so sunny today I decided to go to the park I really wanted to get on the swings

I went with my mom and her friend and their little daughter
As my mom talked to her friend I grabbed the little girl and took her with me to the swings
I pushed her then after a while I would push myself , then I picked her out the swing and sat her on my lap so we could swing together

I looked up and saw some of Kane's men
But this is regular he still has then look after me so I can't really say much I just let them be. They don't bother me

We were talking then I felt someone sit in the swing next to me

"So this color is yellow ?" She said pointing at the sun

"Yes it is " I smiled and looked up to see Kane sitting next to me on the swing

He looked at me and he hasn't changed much he always shaved hiS beard the only difference I notice is his hair is less slicked back then usual

"Hey Nina , I've missed you" he says

What the hell is he doing here!!!!

"whatttt are you doing here?" I asked with so much confusion in my voice even in my facial expression

"I just wanted to see you and talk to you"

I began to stand up but he put his hand out in front of the little girl so I wouldn't be able to
