There was silence.

Instead of the normal singing of birds and yelling from Jeremy and Jenna in the thralls of one of their morning arguments, Buffy Summers was met with unfamiliar silence.

A silence that immediately sent a shiver down her spine.

Blinking slightly she winced at the harsh light before finally opening her eyes fully, and examining her surroundings.

She was on the cold wooden floor of what seemed to be an abandoned mansion. If the boarded windows and dust everywhere were anything to go off.

Sitting up Buffy groaned as the room quickly started spinning and her ears started ringing painfully.

That was when the memories hit her.

Last night she had felt a prick in her neck and the last thing she heard was Elena screaming and struggling.

They had been freaking kidnapped!

Instantly, panic started to settle in as she thought about Elena. The screams from last night were practically all she could hear as she stumbled up to her feet.

Buffy glanced around the room intently, not that there was much to look at. It was pretty bare.

Whoever had taken them... this clearly was just a halfway point.

A stopping point before they were taken to a more permanent residence...or killed.

Either option was viable at this point.

Taking a step forward trying to be as quiet as possible she froze as she heard a loud familiar scream coming from the next room.

Letting go of all thoughts about silently trying to escape she rushed forward and swung her heeled foot out slamming the doors open causing them to hit the wall violently with a thud.

There on a ratty couch still wearing her blood-covered shirt from last night was Elena.

Currently trying to get away from the vampire that was leaning toward her neck.

Running over Buffy tackled the vampire away from Elena, causing the two of them to go rolling over the couch.

As the two of them rolled across the disgusting dirt-covered floor Buffy couldn't help but groan as the vampire managed to pin her down.
Grabbing the back of his head she slammed her forehead against his but it didn't do much to deter him from trying to get a chunk out of her neck.

"Elena!" Buffy grunted as managed to knee the vampire in the groin using that as a way to flip them over so she was pinning him down "A stake would be nice!"

Elena who was still frozen quickly snapped back to life and glanced around the room in a panic.

Her eyes quickly landed on the wooden plates currently covering the windows.

Keeping the sunlight out.

Running over she yanked and yanked but it was useless, she couldn't get the wood to budge "I can't!"

Buffy groaned before reaching out and grabbing a book off the floor shoving it into the vampire's mouth before slamming down on it with her fist causing a loud crack from his jaw to echo through the room.

"Trevor!"

At the new voice, Buffy was momentarily distracted and turned her head toward the new voice giving Trevor the chance to shove his foot into her chest, sending her flying into a nearby wall.

"Buffy!" Elena screamed running over while the new pixie-haired brunette woman made her way over to Trevor helping him back to his feet as he reset his broken jaw.

While Elena tried to help the now dizzy blonde who had taken a strong hit to the head when she hit the wall, Rose turned to Trevor with a frustrated growl "You were just supposed to bring the doppelganger."

"I couldn't leave that one Rose..." Sighing Trevor clicked his jaw before tossing away the book Buffy had used to bash in his face and gesturing to the two girls "Look at her, Rose."

Rose frowned in confusion before turning her head and there sure enough standing protectively in front of her cousin, still in her dress and heels was a face she hadn't seen in centuries.

It was like luck was truly on their side. First the Doppelganger and now the Slayer.

It was the perfect combination they needed to buy their freedom.

Rose's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at the blonde almost unable to believe what she was actually seeing "Dear God."

Buffy clenched her jaw tightly before picking up the ratty couch and launching it straight at the female vampire.

Without hesitation, she picked up Elena, running like hell to the exit.

However, while she may be stronger than a lot of vampires...she wasn't faster.

Suddenly, Trevor was in front of Buffy with a baseball bat, swinging it at her with a speed she couldn't beat.

The bat slammed into the side of her cheek sending both her and Elena flying to the ground.

Rolling onto her back Buffy winced at the sudden throbbing in the side of her face. But she couldn't allow the pain to get to her.

She didn't have time for it.

Elena was in danger.

Looking up she moved to go back and get Elena, however, her entire body went stone-cold as she found a terrified Elena with Trevor's hand over her throat.

Cutting off her oxygen supply.

"Move and she dies."
