I had promised to meet Harry at the Ravenclaw tower after helping to set up enchantments to protect the castle. I followed after McGonagall who was leading a group of students and adults outside of the castle. She was talking to Neville, giving him instructions on blowing up a bridge.

"Let me get this straight, Professor. You're actually giving us permission to do this?"

"That is correct, Longbottom."

"To blow it up! Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Wicked! But how on earth are we gonna do that?"

"Wicked! But how on earth are we gonna do that?"

"Why don't you confer with Mr. Finnigan? As I recall, he has a particular proclivity for pyrotechnics."

"I can bring it down," Seamus reassured.

"That's the spirit! Well, you go."

"You do realize, of course, we can't keep out You-Know-Who indefinitely," said Flitwick.

"That doesn't mean we can't delay him. And his name is Voldemort. Filius, you might as well use it. He's come to try to kill you, either way!"

McGonagall turned around and lifted her wand addressing the doorway of the castle.

"Piertotum Locomotor!"

With a bang, a stone soldier dropped down from a ledge. Others followed it until she had an army of stone soldiers marching into the courtyard.

"Hogwarts is threatened! Man the boundaries! Protect us! Do your duty to our school!"

We watched the soldier march by, in such an orderly fashion. I felt McGonagall lean over to me. "I always wanted to use that spell!" I smiled a little, though it was hard to smile at a time like this. I ran down the steps and dashed to James and my dad who were getting ready to create the magical enchantments around the school. We raised our wands and began to chant.

"Protego Maxima. Fianto Duri. Repello Inimigotum. Protego Maxima. Fianto Duri. Repello Inimigotum. Protego Maxima. Fianto Duri. Repello Inimigotum."

We continued this until we made a sheet of bluish-white encircled the castle and grounds. When we finished, James and Dad, and I held our hands together, pulling each other close, fearing the worst. When we pulled apart, I dashed through the castle and toward the Ravenclaw Tower. Someone had been kind enough to leave the door open with a wedge so I didn't have to go through the whole riddle process to get into the common room.

Reaching Harry and Luna, Hary began informing on what was going on.

"Hazel, Luna was telling me something. Remember how Cho said that Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem has not been seen by a person who is alive? We have to talk to someone who's dead."

I was stunned. "That's incredible. Let's go!"

We ran up the steps of the tower. When we made it to the doorway, we slowed down.
