'Isla, is that you?'
She thought about running, but she stayed.
'Claire?'
She never expected Claire to be her correspondent.
Claire stood up and slowly approached Isla.
'Someone stole the notes and spread them around school.'
'I just came from there. Do you think they know it was us?'
'I don't know.' Claire shrugged.
'Who do you think it was?'
'I don't know.'
Claire burst into another round of sobs which made Isla uncomfortable.
Although, in her letter, she wanted to be her friend.
In life, they'd both been hurt by Duncan.
Isla did the only thing she could, she hugged Claire.
Claire cried into her shoulder.
Isla still felt uncomfortable, but she knew what needed to happen next.
They needed to talk about their problems.
But they also needed to get even with Duncan.
