I stepped into my borther in laws room. He was writing some thing before looking up. "Y/N..." He said a smile on his face. I faked a smile. "Evan...Congratulation. You have invented a new kind of stupid. Damage you can never undo kind of stupid." I told his stepping forward.

"An open all the cages in the zoo kind of stupid. Truly you didn't think this through kind of stupid. Lets review, you took a rumor a few maybe two people knew? And refuted it by sharing an afair of which no one has accused you. I begged you to take a break you refused to." I told him as he started sweating. "So scared of what your enemies might do to you. Your the only enemy you ever seem to lose too! You know why Jefferson can do whatever he wants he doesn't dignify school yard taunts with a response. So yeah...Congraulations."

I started walking away but he stopped me. "It was an act of political sacrifice!" He told me. I felt tears start. "Sacrifice...? I languished in a love less marriage in London, I lived only to read your letters. I look at you and think of what have we done with our lives and what did it get us? That doesn't wipe the tears of the years away. But I'm back in the city and I'm here to stay and you know what I'm here to do?" Evan looked at me and started walking towards me. We were both crying at this point. "Y/N..." He said pulling me into a hug but I pushed him away. "I'm not here for you..." I told him pushing him back every step I took. Sydney had the brightest smile on her face when she saw Evan walk in. "This ones mine."

"So I stood by...Do you know why? I love my sister more than anything in this life! I will chose her happiness over mine every time! Sydney! Is the nest thing in our lives. So never lose sight of the fact that you have been blessed with the best wife." I told him as he was backed up against a wall. I wiped my tears away. "Congratulations...for the rest of your life. Every sacrifice you make is for my sistr give her the best life!" I started walking out the door but before I shut the door I turned to face Evan who was a sobbing mess. "Congratulations..." And with that I left to go see my sister.
