Simon's POV

L: But why on earth you can't come?!
S: I can't I have work to do, meetings to attend to-
L: And a child and a wife that are waiting for you.
S: You knew that I was a busy man. You chose to be with me. Now you have to deal with me.
L: But you are always busy, you weren't that busy when we were cheating on Andrew.
S: Now that's not fair-
L: I'm busy too Simon! I have to attend to meetings-
S: With your friends.
L: I have to give charity to-
S: The poor stores of high class in London and Paris
L: Fine! Have it your way, leave your child and your wife-
S: We are not married darling.
L: Agh! Asshole.

With that she hanged the phone.

I was in the back seat of my Rolls Royce driving all around the city.

I hated this part of the year. I really hate it.

Americas Got Talent it over.
There much time still to go for Britains Got Talent and all the other shows... didn't seem enough to me.

I missed Amanda. Her voice, her cuddles, the confidences.

I missed Alesha, her laugh, the complicity between the two girls.

Naturally I miss Ant and Dec. They've been busy. I envy them.

I miss David... His laugh, his cheeky and smutty comments, his suits. I saw he just won a OBE medal. I knew that when I see him, I won't get the end of it.

I even miss Stephen.

I'm kinda sad. I mean I love Eric and I love Lauren... at least I think I do.

Jesus! I better lover, I live with her, damn it!

But for some reason my life didn't felt right.

As I was thinking this, I look through the window of the car and there was David. Walking down the street, he entered one little coffee shop.

S: Stop the car!

The driver did. I got out of the car and entered to the place. "Tea House". No wonder why David came in.

There was some customers who didn't even looked at me as I entered, but David wasn't here.

I looked to the open door in the corner and stepped inside, after going through a few rooms I finally made it.

I found him, on the last room, sitting in the middle, with a little kettle, a cup of tea and honey. He was writing on his notebook. And I was hypnotised.

The soft light that came through the tree showered him and his black coat for the October wind. He was so focused in his writing that he didn't notice me.

I felt curious about what he must be writing.

Ana: May I help you sr? Oh!
S: Hey amm
D: Simon? Dear Lord! What are you doing here!?
S: I just... amm I was-
Ana: I'll bring you the menu for you to think your order and a good excuse.

She laughed and left. Cheeky girl.

David stood up and I went to him. We shook hands and then he hugged me.

D: My Simon, it's so good to smell you again.

I had to laugh at this.

S: I missed you too David.
D: Really?!
S: As a matter of fact yeah.
D: YOU LOVE ME!! I KNEW IT!

I chuckled. THIS is what I miss.

Ana: Now you would like to order?
S: Eh yah, a coffee please. Black.
D: As his soul.

I rolled my eyes.

S: And the excuse: I was on my car and I saw you passing by and entering this please.
D: What do you think Ana? Do we believe him?
Ana: Seems a right excuse to me. I'll be right back with your coffee.

She smiled and left.

S: Is she flirting with us or just...
D: I have no idea.

We laughed.

D: So... welcome to my place.
S: Your place?
D: I discovered this place a few days ago. Something about this makes me feel better.
S: I can see why.

I said looking around me.

It was a really nice place, this last part it was empty and the white tables had little leaves and flowers that fell from the tree.

S: Shit! I forgot.

I send a text message to my driver, saying that he could go home, that I would call him if I needed anything.

S: You wouldn't mind to drive me home, would you?
D: I came here walking.
S: What?
D: I came here walking.
S: But your house is nearer than mine.
D: Fine, I'll take you home.
S: You don't need to sound so exited.
D: I'm not.
S: You should, you'll have me in your house.
D: OH MY GOD THAT'S TRUE!

He jumped exited on his chair clapping fast his hands.

I laughed. For a moment nothing existed but us and the memories of BGT and our holidays together.

After a while I asked.

S: So how's the writing going?
D: Oh great, absolutely great. Amazing actually.
S: You haven't wrote a shit, have you?
D: No, I haven't.
S: Why?
D: Don't know... don't feel like it.
S: Really?
D: Yeah... I'm sure it's just a fase, I'll be better sooner or later.
S: Well, I'm back in your life, at least for a moment. That'll inspire you, I would say.
D: Oh yes, my muse, I would say so.

After a moment of silence, he spoke again.

D: How's business going?
S: Great, as usual.
D: And family?
S: As usual.
D: Meaning...
S: Eric's fine. As well Lauren.
D: Why I don't believe you?
S: I have no idea.
D: Ok, I'll leave it there.
S: Thank you.

With that he stood up and went to pay the check. I let him do, amazingly.

After that we went walking to his home, which was near enough to stretch our legs but close enough for no one to recognise us. Just a pair who looked at us and smiled.

I love this kind of fans. They recognise you and maybe get a little exited, but they don't intrude in your privacy or be annoying. They are respectful.

A little girl passed by on a car and she waved happily at David who waved back.

S: You are loved by the children, I see.
D: They love my books and the thought of me, but they don't love me.
S: Where does that come from?
D: Never mind.
S: No, I do mind. Tell me.
D: No, Simon. Mind your own business.

Rude.

D: Sorry.
S: It's all right.

We didn't say another word but I had a feeling what this was about.

Alfred.

He never spoke of Alfred. To anyone. Some times I forgot about the boy.

We reached to his house and once there, I called my chofer.

I passed around the living room and he showed me his OBE medal. In a certain was I felt a little tinkling of pride.

He deserves it. I honestly think he is indeed a good man.

20 minutes letter, I received a message from my driver. He was outside the house.

S: Well, time to go.
D: Yup, I'll see you out, my Simon.
S: Quit it already.

He laughed.

In the door, I stopped and asked.

S: How often do you go to that tea house?
D: Often enough.
S: I'll see you soon enough then.
