"Missed me?"
"Phh it was just a day, I'm not that obsessed with hearing your voice,"
"You're not! That's a shame cause I am but only for the sexy sore throat voice you had when I first called."
"Well damn I'm sorry that I'm no longer ill,"

"Hey! being ill isn't nice, it took me weeks to get better,"
"Aw well good thing it's passed. How are you now?"
"How am I?"
"That is what I asked wasn't it?"
"Yeah, I um, I'm good. Thanks for asking. I mean, we've got some stressful weeks coming up though,"
"I am so not ready for these end of year exams,"
"It's honestly the worst thing ever,"
"I can't wait for it to be over and for prom oh my god!"
"But then it all ends, we all move on. You go to college and probably never see half your friends again,"
"Hey Mr Pessimist, think positively!"

- A silence hung in the air for a moment. It wasn't an awkward silence but one of thoughts. I knew I'd hit a sensitive topic but it wasn't my place to prod for answers. If he wanted to tell me he would but for now, I wasn't going to push further into the matter. My best bet was to drop it and change the conversation. -
"I like this friendship,"
"Huh?"
"It's strange cause I've never seen you yet I really enjoy your company,"
"Same here. It's the best way, no judging any books by their covers,"
"Very true, But my curiosity is killing me! I was thinking of maybe coming into the restaurant this weekend with Sara, then we could finally me-,"
"Don't!"
"Wait why?"
"Because, the, er, the restaurant is closing for an inspection! You know, rats and stuff."
"Okayyy, I'll take your word for it. Will I still be able to call and get sushi ordered?"
"Yeah, I'll still be here."
"Perfect. I guess I'll talk with you tomorrow then cause I've got so much work to finish right now."
"I got to go too, my brother is shouting at the manager.
"Try not to miss me too much before then."
"I'll try, I promise."
