There was something about Elspeth Hayes that always kept Sirius content when he thought about her. Whether it was witnessing her attitude turned on others that were in need of a wakeup call or her ability to keep her head held up high even when she seemed to be walking through her own personal version of hell. There was just something about the girl that continued to draw Sirius in, but the fact of the matter was, even though they had been dating for a couple of months, he still didn't know much about her.

He knew pieces of information about her, such as little things about her parents or some of her favourite foods to eat. He also knew about one of her cousins taking their own life due to the fact that they were plagued by a werewolf attack but could no longer qualify as an Auror, but he only learned that from Remus. If it was safe to say, Elspeth was one of those people that was very much open about who she was as a person and what she believed in, but very secretive about what made her think the way she did or what made her become the person she wanted to be.

While no one had brought up the fact that Elspeth was able to avoid detection on the map in quite some time, Sirius was sure that it was still something that lingered at the back of their minds. He had enough respect to keep it to himself, but he was extremely curious whenever he thought about how it was possible.

There was also something else that was bothering Sirius and that was the fact that it appeared that Elspeth wasn't getting any sort of sleep. Even when he did witness her napping as she often graciously took her afternoon nap cuddled into his side, every time she woke up she looked even more tired than before. He didn't understand and when he asked her what she was dreaming about, she told him it was nothing important. He was beginning to believe that Elspeth was being plagued by night terrors of some sort.

But if she wouldn't talk about it, what was the boy to do?

Maybe it wasn't safe to call himself a genius, but Sirius thought of a way to at least corner her into getting some information out of the girl, while also having fun.

"You really are a fan of these broom cupboards, aren't you?" Elspeth giggled in the dark, bringing a grin to his face.

"Well, they give me a pretty good excuse to be closer to you considering it's such a tight space in here," he told her and seconds later, he heard her let out a yarn, which instantly brought the mood way down. "You're tired?"

"Hmm? What? No," she said quickly, "well, you know, I'm just waking up from Professor Binns' class, that's all. That ghost can put anyone to sleep-"

She attempted to draw him into a kiss but Sirius stopped her at the last second. "El, I'm worried about you," he confessed and for a few moments, there was nothing but silence in the cupboard. He could hear her feet shuffling underneath her as he was well aware that he had made things awkward. To go from kissing to laying out all his concerns, it probably wasn't anything that the girl was expecting at the time.
