Forever isn't Always

Chapter 2

By the time we get out of the house we're twenty minutes late. Not my fault though. I laugh mentally knowing Marcus would disagree. By the time we pull up to Caden and Jade's condo my heart is pounding, remembering the last time we were all together. But this isn't about that. The condo is right on the edge of the city. Warm lights hang across trees leading us up to the door. Tonight is a night to have a good time. Marcus places a hand on my leg and looks softly at me "you ok?" He asks and I nod with a smile

"Yeah come on" I tell him and get out of his car

We walk up the drive way, hand in hand, and I can already hear the chatter as we walk up the steps. Before Marcus even knocks Jade is opening the door with a big smile on her face "hi!" She says excitedly and yanks me out of Marcus's grasp to hug me tightly

"Would you stop I saw you last week" I giggle and she sets me down her purple eyes glowing against her pale skin.

"Can a best friend not miss you" she hits me and I roll my eyes

She hugs Marcus and ushers us in. Caden is the second one we see, his bright blue eyes first land on his raven haired love then slowly move to us. His smile grows and his blonde curly hair tickles my cheek as he hugs me "How have you been?"

"Good" I smile and pull away "besides the fact you drug my best friend 10 miles away" he laughs and rolls his eyes pulling her close

"As if you could get rid of me" Jade winks her bright purple eyes at me and I roll mine

"the man of the hour" Marcus chuckles and shakes Caden's hand

"happy birthday"I say to him with a wink

Caden laughs and shakes his head "been one hell of an existence" he pulls jade close to him and she kisses him lightly

We all follow Jade as she gives us a very detailed tour of the hallway. The next people I see is Amber and Luke I smile wide and look up at Marcus who pushes me lightly towards them. They both look at me at the same time and instantly smile. I run into Ambers arms and squeeze her small body against mine "I've missed you so much!" I say against her shoulder

"I miss you too!" She says pulling away with a faint glossiness to her golden eyes "it's been crazy trying to figure out this luna thing" she laughs nervously pushing a golden strand of hair behind her ear

Luke pulls her close "she's doing amazing"

"I'm so sad you won't be there with us in classes" I frown and she nods

"I know but it's just better for me to take online classes, I'll be there in spirit though!" She says with a soft smile and I nod

"Everyone adjusted by now?" Marcus asks, talking about the other packs and suppressed werewolves that lived on Caines side

Luke nods "yes very well" he says "my pack has made five more allying packs" he says and Marcus smiles approvingly

Lucia, Evangeline, Jades mother and gran are all talking. Jade runs over and hugs Lucia and keeps her arm wrapped around her. I smile as they turn their heads to me I quickly run over and Marcus grins while watching me. I hug each of them and they all ask me questions at once. I have missed them.
