After my last class, I didn't even give it a second thought to look for Lola. I actually wanted to be her friend, but also because I wanted to know how she did that trick earlier.

While searching for her, I see her standing with this boy known as Kevin Clark. Don't get me wrong, Kevin is a nice kid, but he has this sort of "I'll stab you in your sleep" vibe, you know?

Approaching Lola, I see that they are indeed making out, and so I feel too embarrassed to say anything so I begin to walk away. But, of course, one of the two had to notice me.

"Tairus! It's been a while. I haven't seen you since the seventh grade." Kevin smiles at me, before walking over to give me a hug.

Before he could even get two feet in front of me, Lola was already standing proud, as though it was a race to get to me first.

"Hello! Tairus is your name, right? I just wanted to thank you for letting me part of your whole scheme earlier. I'm friends with a few of the other kids who was trying to help you, and they let me in on all the juicy details. If you wanted to do something that destructive, you could have just asked me straight up. I would have loved to help." Lola admits, before kissing Kevin goodbye as he began to walk away.

"I... I don't know what to say. Well, first off, I'm supposed to be the one thanking you, for helping me get out of that awkward situation. Second, how did you disappear in thin air? Are you some sort of witch or something?" I laugh at that, wow I'm hilarious.

Lola laughed too, shaking her head. A smile on her face gets replaced with a frown as she then proceeded to lightly bang her head on the wall next to us.

"Hey!" I grabbed her, and looked at her. Her forehead had a small cut on it, and it didn't seem to be bleeding. "What are you doing?"

Lola's eyes filled with tears as she then latched herself onto me and was then holding onto me so tight, that I had a hard time breathing.

"I-I got suspended!" She yells, before then dropping to her knees. Her shoulders were shaking pretty bad, and her eyes began to have a dark red color surround them as the crying got worse.

"Hey um... It's going to be okay, I promise. Do you want me to drive you home? I noticed you take the bus and they busses have left by now..." Looking out the windows down the hall, I can see the empty lot, as it seemed to begin to rain. Damn, I thought this wasn't going to be a cliche based story!

Nodding, Lola smiles and rubs her eyes, before laughing.

Kinda, you know, confused, I squat down next to her and stare at her until she stopped. Which, it lasted for a bit.

"Hey, kids! Get out of her, it's after school hours." Turning, we saw a teacher was walking our way, and we began to run, hand in hand as we made our way outside in the pouring rain.

Jumping into my car, we look at each other with excitement.

"That was crazy!" Lola looks back to the school, as we see that the teacher has his arms crossed and is standing right under a bit of the roof, rain still managing to get to him. "Do you think he knows who we are?"

"I mean, I hope not. If we don't know who he is, then how would he know who we are?" Shrugging, I began the car. Lola turned on the radio, and gasped.

"I. Love. This. Song!" Dancing to the music, I realized what song it is.

"No way!"

"SAY SOMETHING I'M GIVING UP ON YOU..." Lola and I yell in unison, it's as if we were made to sing this song.

The song ends, and Lola just sits there with her mouth wide open, before saying, "Wait are you serious, that was it?! We were too late?! No..."

Laughing, I looked over and that's when it happened.

Suddenly, her long, hazelnut brown hair is the most beautiful shade I have ever seen. Her eyes, oh, her eyes, don't get me started. They are like pieces of dark chocolate. Her skin! Her skin, tan from over summer break, but somehow still managed to last this long, was so beautiful.

Before I could even register what was going on, I see Lola waving her hands in front of me.

"Hello? Are you there? I asked you who your string is attached to. Okay... That was a little forward, but I want to know so much more about you."

My string, the one that doesn't actually exist. It's a painful subject for me, but I smile and lie about it anyways.

"Oh, my string you say? It's connected to this one hot girl, you know, this one girl in my history class? Got a smoking hot body..." Before I could finish my lie, I hear Lola laugh.

"You're bad at this, huh? I heard you don't have a string. Is that true? If you don't want to tell me, I understand." She smiles at me and suddenly I feel like I'm in the safest spot on this planet.

"Oh uh yeah... I never had a string. I guess I'm just not for love, you know? Without a string, is actually pretty nice. But, once you know majority of the people you fall in love with, actually has a string, then it upsets you." I grip the steering wheel with all the strength I have, and then I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey... It's okay... I... Thank you for telling me this." She rubs my shoulder and continues talking. "Although you already know this, my string is connected with Kevin's." She then begins to giggle. "I know I'm not supposed to tell anyone that, but I can't help it. I just love him so much, knowing that he also loves me."

Eyes sparkling, her face was filled with joy. Then before I could even realize what I was doing, I had already parked in front of her house.

Walking out into the rain, I open her door for her, getting a thank you in response.

We walked up to the front porch, and before she unlocked the front door, she pauses, turns around and hugs me.

Being uncomfortable because of the rain that continued to pour, I lightly hugged back before saying, "You should probably go inside, it's terrible out here."

Lola hugs me tightly and pats my head, and walks inside.

Watching her walk inside, I sigh and walk back to my car with a smile on my face that wouldn't go away for days.
