There was no actual way I could prepare Cassie for what's about to come. Her life would become a living hell once they figure out her name. Everyone will dig deep in her past, truing to find something that would make her look bad. Something that could cause a person to break. Split into multiple pieces with no one to help gather the pieces.

I helped her out of the car since their could be a photographer at any point right now. I lead her inside the small breakfast café. No one was inside which was just the start to probably a lucky day. We grabbed ourselves a booth, placed in our orders; Cassie ordered another coffee and so did I.

Cassie continued to stare out the window that we were by. I couldn't help but wonder what was going through her mind right now. Then again, maybe I don't want to know. Maybe it's best if I don't. In fact that's probably for the best that I don't know.

She placed her head on her palm while staring at the busy streets outside. I tried to hold back a smile, but I couldn't restrain myself.

She looked back at me suddenly. "What you smiling at?"

"Just some joke I thought of." I lie.

He raised her eyebrow, lifting her head off her palm. "Let me hear."

"You probably won't like it." I add. Trying to stall me some time.

"Try me." She grins.

"Fine." What's the first joke that comes to my mind? "How many balls of string would it take to reach the moon?"

The bridge if her nose crinkled up. "How many?"

"One." I smiled cheesy. "A very large one."

She tried to hold back a laugh so instead she acted as if it wasn't the funniest thing she's ever heard. Or at least that's what I hope she would of done. She just stared at me for awhile until it finally clicked.

"Oh my god, your so stupid." She grins.

"I told you you wouldn't like it." I reminded her.

She couldn't help but smile at the lamest joke I've probably ever said in my life. Yet somehow that smile dropped once again and I couldn't feel my stomach twist.

"So how's the weather back at NorthBrooks?"

She looked up at me with an eyebrow raised. "The weather?"

"Yeah." No.

"It's uh cold." She said awkwardly.

Great going dude. I should give myself an award for the lack of being able to keep a conversation going.

"Here's your guys meals." The waitress came over and dropped the food onto the table. Her red hair gleamed in the light and there was a twinkle in her eye when she looked at me. "Do you uh mind if I get a picture?"

"Not at all." I smile.

"Alright," she checked her watch. "My break starts in five minutes."

"We'll be here!" I called.

I looked over to see Cassie staring at me. "What?"

She tilted her body back and crossed her arms. "You must get that often."

"Only when my father lets me leave my room."

"Really? That must suck." I really couldn't tell I she was being sarcastic or not. I could only focus my attention on her eyes. It was like they were drawing me in.
