If you can't tell, I have no friends. Or life, for that matter. Nobody waits for me by the lockers, or sits with me at lunch. It's like I'm invisible.
I push the pretty girls, Samantha and Eleanor. The jocks, Kade and Logan. The nerds, Maximus and Justin. Basically the whole school to get to my locker.
Something's different. Not me, not my locker. Same black decorations, same textbooks. But the feeling's different.
My first period is history, so I grab my textbook and notebook. I slam my locker to see a boy leaning against the plaster wall.
I shriek out of instinct. "Who... who are you?", I ask.
"Chill babygirl, I'm new. Name's Cole. What about you?", the boy says.
"Lea. Now, if you'll move, I'd like to get to class." I step aside, to let him walk away, but he doesn't.
"I'm your class buddy, according to Mr. Peters."
"Why me? Why did it have to be me?", I murmur under my breath. Suddenly, Cole slips his thumb under my chin, holding my head up.
"What was that?", he asks. Jeez, that got real weird really quick. I shake my head out of his hand, and push him out of the way.
"Just follow me around my classes. Don't talk to me at all.", I say. I rush to homeroom and slip into a seat in the back.
