" It's okay; I'll find her."

Vaughn let out a yelp of protest at window-boy's words, struggling to push himself off of the couch in order to aid in the mission of saving his beloved cousin. Unfortunately for him, the stranger was already gone.

When he saw that yelling was doing no good he sunk deep into the couch in despair. He supposed that he would just have to trust a stranger to be her Super-man.

Of course, he didn't exactly envision Cleo's knight in shining armour as a strange boy who walked up to people's windows demanding to know where she was. However, there was something telling him that the boy would do no harm to her.

Maybe it had been the genuine worry on window-boy's face.

Perhaps it had been the slight stubble on his chin that was far too scruffy to have been left there on purpose.

Or perhaps it had been his overall expression.

He had looked lost.

Vaughn chuckled at the thought, soon stopping  when the simple action caused him pain but continued smiling all the same.

Window-boy had looked like a lost boy.
