''Mum!'' I screamed as I saw the slightly burnt woman lying on the ground. She had been electrocuted along with electro due to the webs...that I had planned. I kept screaming and screaming for her to come back to me though it was too late, she had been instantly killed. Her blueish green eyes lost the glint that she had always had and her body hadn't become limp. She was burnt on the inside. Lifeless. This was it. No last words or good byes just me here, holding her close to me...like Alice. I had ran away from Alice just like I had from my mum yet this time, I didn't get to say that I was proud of her or that she was proud of me. This time I had nothing.
Peter landed close by with his mask off and two tears falling from his left eye. He felt guilty for this though it was my fault. I had pushed her away and not gotten her to safety.
''I'm so sorry Emily.'' Peter whimpered as I hugged him as tight as I could. ''I couldn't stop it. I tried to get her out of the way but-''
''But you didn't...and I'm okay with that.'' He looked confused. ''It was you or her Peter and as far as I'm concerned she was only here to take me away from you.''
I stayed strong about this. It was true. My mum had just turned up out of the blue to steal me away from everyone I love after about 5 years of not seeing her. I had been calling her mum all this time but the only time I needed her was when I was just a little girl. I'm not that little girl any more.
Peter nodded at me and took me into his arms before I broke down.
''Let's get you home.''
