The day was cold and windy, the cold nipping at any exposed skin and leaving it stinging. The trees and bushes were barren of any leaves. The sky overhead was filled with large and dark grey, almost black, clouds that looked like they'd burst at any moment. Yet despite the cold and windy weather the streets were still filled with people. The atmosphere was light and cheery, unlike dark and foreboding like you'd think. Then again why wouldn't it be? People, especially children, were hoping it'd snow, after all, it would be the first snow of the season. Even though I was on a hunt I couldn't help but catch the contagious sense of happiness, that was until another violent shiver racked up my spine.

Shivering, I pulled my coat impossibly closer to my body. I've been trying to preserve body heat from the moment I stepped foot out of the Impala. Dean and Sam seemed oblivious to my shivering. No matter how much I don't want to admit Dean was right, he was. I should have worn a warmer coat.  I had stupidly insisted that I while we were at the motel that I would be fine and there was no reason for bringing a warmer coat.

"So, are you going to admit you were wrong? Or are you going to keep being stubborn and cold?" Dean asked, looking over his shoulder with a smug smirk.  I had been considering admitting how I was wrong, but now that he said that I refuse to admit it. "I was not wrong." I fake grumbled. "Okay, suit yourself." Dean said, shrugging his shoulders.

At least an hour we were still out in the cold. Things had gotten better though, the wind had died down and I wasn't shivering nearly as much. Plus, I was no longer around Dean, so I don't have to worry about his teasing. I may love the guy, platonically, but that won't stop me from punching him one. Also, I'm alone with Sam, which is great, for the most part. It goes downhill when my feelings for him start to show.  No one knows about my feelings for Sam; maybe Castiel knows, but that's because he's been in my head before.

We split up not too long ago, after hunting this werewolf for the past week we've finally found it's hiding place. Not wanting to take any chances we split up, we don't want to let this thing get away again. The only reason I'm with Sam and not searching on my own is because Dean wouldn't let me go on my own. I tried reasoning and arguing with Dean to let me go on my own, but he wouldn't let me because the last time we split up to find this werewolf I got hurt. I swear, I feel like I'm an untrustworthy little girl who can't take care of herself.

"I know Dean means well but he's being outright unreasonable." I mumbled, my voice shaking as a shiver ran up my spine. "I agree he is being a bit unreasonable, but he also feels guilty about you getting hurt." Sam explained as he shown his flashlight down another hallway. "Yeah? Well, he has to realize I'm a grown woman, not some child, and can take care of myself." I said while my voice shook even more.

Sam suddenly stopped. "What? Did you see something?" I asked, trying to see past him. Sam just sighed as he shed his outer coat and dropped it on my shoulders. "Um, why-" I started, but Sam interrupted me. "Put it on. You're freezing." He said as he continued walking down the halls of the warehouse. "But what about you?" I asked as I slipped my arms into the sleeves. "I'll be fine." He replied, shining the flashlight down another hall before walking down in. "Are you sure?" I asked, but all I got for an answer was a hush.

I was just about to answer with some witty remark, but then I remembered we're on a hunt. For all, I knew he saw or heard the werewolf, or saw it. A tense silence passed before a shrill yelp was heard. It had obviously gotten hurt and I'm assuming the injury came from Dean. Not sparing each other a glance Sam and I bolted down the hallway to help Dean in any way we could. Only to get there as Dean shot the werewolf, effectively killing it.

"Some help you two were." He joked. "I don't know, I think I might've been more helpful if I went on my own. Don't you think so Sam?" I asked, a smile growing on my face. "Yeah." He agreed, smiling right back at me.  Dean just rolled his eyes and everything was quiet for a moment. He looked back and forth between Sam and me and a smirk pulled at the corner of his lips. "Aww, how cute. You're wearing Sammy's coat. When are you lovebirds going to hook up? Go on a date or whatever sappy thing you two do." Dean teased before turning around and starting to leave.

I couldn't fight the smirk that grew on my face as I looked up at Sam, who was sporting a smirk of his own. Oh, only if Dean knew that while we were running to his aid Sam had cheesily asked me out, for tomorrow night.  "Should we keep him in the dark?" Sam asked as we walked down the hall, cautiously slipping his hand into mine. "Of course! He'll figure it out eventually anyway." I said, lacing my fingers with his.

"Hey (Y/n)?" Sam asked, slightly slowing down his run. "Yes, Sam?" I asked breathlessly. "Will you go on a date with me tomorrow night?" Sam asked, glancing at me before returning to watching where he's going. "Is this really the time?" I questioned, masking my shock. "Yes!" He exclaimed. "Alright, of course I will Sam!"
