Circe is a peculiar light fairy. Her magic is weak, which is most likely due to the fact that while her mother was a fairy, yet her father, Andreas, is not. Yet Miss Dowling is kind enough to allow her to train with the Specialists and her magic, in case the latter is not strong enough to allow for Circe to defend herself. 

Riven has spent the whole summer smoking different kind of joints, and when he sees Circe, he doesn't recognise her. Her long locks had been dyed a sandy blonde, her body had stretched to make her seem taller, and her cheekbones had grown sharper. But her new found beauty only distracts Riven for a timeless second; once she opens her mouth, Riven is reminded that he finds her the most irritating fairy in Alfea.

And Circe is no fan of Riven. With his amused smirk, the cigarette in his back pocket and the flirty posture he has around girls, Circe could even say she loathed Riven. The way he always broke the rules without a care in the world. Yet there's one rule he daren't break, and it's the one placed by Sky:

His half-sister, Circe, is out of his league.

Not that Riven wants anything to do with Circe. He hates her, just the way she hates him.
