"Y/n, where are you going?" Lapis Lazuli asked as Y/n walked towards the warp pad with the Gems

"Home?" Y/n said, "Why, what's up?"

"Oh well... I thought maybe you'd stay with us... Peridot and I at the barn?"

"I'd love to, but uhh..." Y/n said, "The barn doesn't really have all the things humans need to be comfortable. Y'know, running water, plumbing, a shower, air conditioning..."

"Oh, I see," Lapis Lazuli nodded sadly

"But uh... I can stay for a few days to help you settle in if you want," Y/n smiled, "Just... I'll have to go back and forth to shower and eat and all that... If that's okay,"

"Of course that's okay," Lapis Lazuli nodded

"Y/n? You coming?" Steven called

"I'm gonna help Peridot and Lapis move in!" Y/n called, "Might be a few days!"

"Alright! See you later!" Steven smiled as he and the Gems warped off back to the temple

"So, Lazuli... And Y/n? You're still here?" Peridot said as she appraoched

"I said I'd help you guys move in," Y/n told

"Heh, of course you did. Who wouldn't want to be in my presence for extended periods of time?" Peridot snorted

"You're lucky you're adorably annoying," Y/n chuckled

"Wow, thanks!" Peridot smiled then began to ponder, "Wait..."

"So, wanna make this place your own, huh?" Y/n asked as they walked up to the barn

"I might have a few ideas on how to do that," Peridot chuckled confidently

"Ooh, maybe we should put a hammock in here," Y/n said as they walked in and pointed to a corner of the barn, "Hammocks are always fun,"

"Hammock?" Lapis Lazuli asked

"I'll show you later... I'll ask Steven to warp over my scooter or something so I can go and shop," Y/n said as they walked around the barn, pushing hay away from their feet, "Should probably sweep this place up,"

"I already sweeped! Steven taught me!" Peridot told

"Right, when you were sweeping with the wrong end of the broom," Y/n laughed, "I think you missed a few spots," Y/n said

"Well if you're so good at sweeping, why don't you do it?" Peridot sassed

"Sure, pass me the broom," Y/n said

"Wait, what?" Peridot blinked, surprised Y/n agreed

"You said you had some ideas for the barn right? So why don't you draw up your plans and I can do all the manual stuff," Y/n suggested

"What about me?" Lapis Lazuli asked

"Well, you can help me clean," Y/n suggested, "Or help Peridot make some designs for the barn. I mean you're going to be living here, you should have a say in how this place is gonna look,"

"Sure... I guess I can help her with that," Lapis Lazuli nodded as she walked to the door where Peridot was standing

"Y/N!" Peridot yelled

"PERIDOT!" Y/n yelled back

"IF YOU NEED US JUST SCREAM REALLY LOUD!" Peridot shouted

"OK!" Y/n laughed as they grabbed a broom. Once Peridot and Lapis Lazuli left the barn, Y/n started to sweep at the hay and dirt, putting all of it into one large pile in the middle of the barn. Once Y/n walked under the catwalk, they noticed a small pile of trash still collecting dust. Setting aside the broom, Y/n walked to the pile of items and began searching through. A bicycle wheel, a wooden chest with children's books, a torn up armchair, and a dusty acoustic guitar, "Huh..." Y/n said as they took the steel-stringed guitar and strummed it. The sound produced by the guitar was painfully out of tune, "We can fix this..." Y/n mumbled as they pulled out their phone and opened a guitar toner app. After about five minutes of tuning, Y/n was satisfied with the sound it made. They happily set it to the side for later as they picked up the broom again and continued cleaning. After about an hour of sweeping, humming to themself and occasional breaks, Y/n managed to clean the entire first floor, but there was still the catwalk/loft area that needed to be cleaned. Y/n chucked the broom to the second floor, then mounted the ladder upwards. Once they reached the top they grabbed the broom and continued cleaning the third floor
