Chapter 10

"Uhhh...sure," I responded, slightly fazed.

"BITCH! WHO THE FUCK IS IN THAT CAR WITH YOU!" Belle screamed. I cringed at the thought of my brothers being in the same house as her and her profanity.

I mean, it wasn't like our family never cursed but still. At Belle's rate, I'm sure the whole neighborhood could hear her curiosity. To hell with it, I'm sure China is confused as to why they can hear it as well.

"Don't freak out, it's just—"

"Grayson Christensen at your service." His voice intruded. Shocked, I glared at him before rushing back to the conversation and turning off the speaker and holding the phone to my ear.

"What. The. Hell. Why are you in the car with Grayson Christensen? Did you sleep with him? Oh shit. We can get you tested. It's okay, don't—" She blabbed on and on. I shut her up before the idea that I got an STD from sleeping with the idiot sitting next to me escalated.

"No, I wouldn't sleep with that thing and you know it," I replied, earning an amused look from Grayson.

"He offered a ride back but I guess we are headed to your place." I heard her sigh in the back before warning me about my decision. I chuckled and hung up, knowing I couldn't handle any more lectures with driving my head through a wall.

Opening Google Maps, I proceeded to type in her address and let him take it from there.

"Thanks, you know, you didn't have to do this," I told him, turning my head to face the side of his. His jawline was pretty sharp and his dirty blonde hair was held in a simple run-through look.

"Don't worry about it." He told me before our eyes made contact; he winked and smirked his attention back to the road. I cursed and slapped his arm, telling him I didn't want to die anytime soon so he should keep an eye on the road.

"Don't worry, princess. You ain't gonna die on my watch."

We pulled up to Belle's two-story house before I turned to Grayson and decided to give him a quick warning.

"My brothers... they are—interesting." I decided after finding a somewhat suitable word. Interesting was a god damned understatement.

"What do you—"

"NANNANANAANAANANNANAAAAAAA!!!!!" A voice screeched. I winced at the sound of the little seven-year-old charging towards the car. Quickly, I hopped out of the car and picked him up.

"Hey Lincoln, how was Bell Bell?" I asked him. He shrugged before finding interest in the person behind me. Shyly, Lincoln buried his head into my neck, not completely used to strangers.

I laughed as I watched Bradley struggle making his way down the patio stairs; holding the rail as his small little three-year-old feet struggled to reach the next step.

Belle ran behind him before swooping him up and making her way down to the truck.

"Who dat?" Bradley questions, holding his fingers to Grayson.

"A friend," I told him before turning to Belle.

"I owe you one." I smiled, thanking her before she could lecture me. Quickly, I turned around to place Lincoln down and strap him up between Grayson and me. I decided on strapping Bradley on top of me, dangerous but better than a car seat. It was about a 10-minute drive down to my place anyways.

"USE PROTECTION!" I screamed as I covered Bradley's ears, making her cheeks flush red.

I mean if she was going to do it she shouldn't be silly and cover his willy.

After re-entering my address into the GPS, we drove down to my house fairly quickly. The ride was no longer awkward with 2 devils screaming their head off. In fact, I found myself laughing every time Grayson flinched at the sound of Bradley's screeches and Lincoln's bombarding questions.

"Are you Elana's special friend?" Lincoln asked as he turned to Grayson.

Immediately our heads turned to him before I told Grayson off, "Grayson road!"

As his eyes turned back to the road, he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Where did you learn that Grayson?" I asked, embarrassed and a bit afraid of where he may have picked up the information.

"Bell Bell told me that was who Tony was." He explained much to my horror.

"He isn't my uhh special friend." I responded, noting to talk to Belle, "His name is Grayson and he's a friend."

"Are you my friend too?" Lincoln continued, "Do you like to eat pizza?"

Surprisingly, Grayson answered all the questions with no complaints as I calmed down Bradley who was getting antsy from the tight seatbelt strapped over to people and the fact that it was past his bedtime. By a lot.

"Thanks for all that," I told him, genuinely grateful for what he did.

"No worries," he smirked before looking back at me. "Need any help with those two? Or are you good alone?"

I'm pretty sure enough bugs flew into my mouth as I stood there speechless, but I quickly closed it.

"Don't you have to head back to the party?" I questioned, avoiding the question. Honestly, it was hard watching little kids but his help was controversial.

"My parents wouldn't be bothered, I would honestly be thankful to stay."He reassured me.

I smiled and waved him inside with Bradley on my hip, making my way to the porch stairs, "I guess four hands are better than only my own. Alrighty, can you take Lincoln out? I'm going to unlock the door."

I fiddled with my lanyard and unlocked the front door before mumbling an apology.

"Sorry Brad, if I had known Mom and Dad left y'all with Belle I would've never gone."

It was a given that I loved my brothers but the two knew how to push my buttons; always asking if I knew where their trucks were or simply that my bed was "more bouncy" and they wanted to jump on it.

Bradley reached his small hands up to touch my face before breaking out into a smile, "It's otay."

After a bit of fussing, I managed to put the two into their respective rooms and carrying down the baby monitor in Bradley's, hurrying so that Grayson wasn't sitting alone in the living room.

"—I couldn't help but overhear. It's not your fault Lana. The party thing, I should've been okay with you not going." Grayson apologized as I came down the stairs.

It was then that I knew that maybe, just maybe that Grayson Christensen wasn't as bad as everyone made him out to be.

"It's good, we're even." I chuckled, "Thanks for everything today, mind if I buy us a pizza?"

"PIZZZAAAAAAAA!!!!" Lincoln yelled. It was funny how his fit of shyness only lasted for a bit with Grayson until he was completely warmed up.

I smacked my head as I heard Bradley screaming on top of his lungs, wanting to join in on the fun.

I should've known putting them to bed couldn't have been that easy. Despite knowing that their sleep schedule would totally reset and come to bite me in the ass later.

I mean pizza at 12:15 A.M. with 2 screaming kids and a jock? What could go possibly wrong?

Maybe. I don't fucking know. Everything?

Edit: This chapter was previously titled ''Two Devils From the Depths of my Mother". How did I even think of that?  It's been almost 3-4 years since I last read some of these chapters but I'm glad I'm getting around to editing them especially since I'm making some a bit longer too!
