Chapter 2

"Hi girls", Jasmine, one of my friends, greeted us in an unenthusiastic tone and sat down in front of me.

"Hey you sound very gloomy today. What happened ma?" Aninthra asked who was sitting right next to Jassy(Jasmine).

"May be, she missed her dream hero's episode last night", Fariha teased her who joined in our lunch just now and sat next to me.

Currently, we are having lunch in our college canteen. I'm doing bachelor studies in mathematics while Jasmine in physics, Aninthra in chemistry, Fariha in English. We meet up with each other everyday during lunch break.

Me, being me, kept silent as I don't have any idea about what they are talking.

"No, it's not that. Don't you know what had happened yesterday?", Jassy asked us again in a disappointed tone.

"Yep, I know, I know. Semester results were announced", I said in a matter of fact tone.

"Hey no! You nerdy Kavi! Since when I have started to worry about that silly semester results. After all, I am not like you to worry about exams and results like a little school child", Jassy said, slightly irritated with my wrong answer.

I shrugged my shoulders in return and focused on my lunch. I cooked veg fried rice today morning. It is yummy. Everyday I am supposed to cook breakfast for everyone and dinner at night. Lunch would be cooked by maids for uncle and aunt. As I go to college, I have to cook lunch for me everyday.

"It is alleged that my dream hero Parth Samthaan is a gay.", She said closing her eyes and holding her chest tightly with her hands like it is paining her to let that words slip out of her tongue.

'Such a dramaqueen. Yup. Jassy is a dramaqueen in our gang. Sometimes bitchy too.'

"WHATTTTT !!!!!!!", shouted Ani, widening her eyes like a soccer ball with shock writen all over her face and her mouth formed an 'O' shape.

Some heads present in the canteen turned towards our direction at her shouting.

"Hey stop it dramaqueens!! It's not like your future husband is a gay.", Fariha said while hushing them to be quiet.

"What is gay?" I asked in a low tone to Fariha.

Before Fariha could answer me, Ani jumped in and said "Oh you there! My little kitten! We don't want to pollute your innocent mind. You better be a naive nerd", she teased me.

"Shut up Ani. Don't tease her.", said my supportive pillar Fariha. She always stands next to me whenever I am being mocked and teased. The only reason behind Aninthra and Jasmine befriended me is they could get my help with their projects and assignments. I don't mind it too as I like to help people anyways. And I learned not to be affected by this kind of teasing. Instead I focused myself on academics.

"Seriously?", asked Aninthra who came back to the earth just now from her thoughts.

"I don't know di. But he declared to the media that he is not a gay. Though the stupid media-" Before she could finish, the bell rang.

"Okay girls. See you in the evening", Jasmine took her bag and left the canteen hurriedly, heading towards her next class.

"Kavi, you should at least see him once. You know? He is so hot and handsome. You will surely melt once you look at him on the screen." Ani said, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

I laughed at her reaction and said, "Okay Ani. I will try". I packed my lunch box in my bag and stood up from the chair ready to leave.

"Yeah. You should. He is handsome. But don't expect anything extraordinary. Because these girls are just exaggerating his ordinary features." Fariha mocked Ani. She also stood up with me.
