1 hour before Taehyung set foot into the police station ...

Jungkook 's POV

"I dont know why would they ever suspect you but oppa , i know you would never do something like that . Just stay calm and answer the questions properly . I know you arent guilty." Claire comforted me as we walked into the station hand in hand .

Yep — we were now dating in the midst of this mess . The confession is just a story to tell on another day .

"But ... what if i mess up and things go wrong ? What if i get framed ? They called me back because they are on to something , what if the evidences that have points to me without me knowing ? It may all be a trap ." I bit my lips nervously but i felt her hands rubbing on mine , trying to calm a few nerves down .

"Dont be scared and tell them what you know , straightforward answers and when you are not sure , don't give a random answer or guess at all , they can use your words against you ." She continued , squeezing my hand as we felt the cold air blast in my our face the moment we stepped in .

"Mr Jeon Jungkook , this way please ." A officer came to greet us and showed me the way to the first interrogation room , waiting for me to enter .

I sat down and shrugged my shoulders , waiting for him to power on his laptop and get started with the questions .

"So ... can you tell me what were you wearing that day ?"

I stuck my tongue out and pushed it to the corner of my cheeks , a habit of mine when i start to think hard .

"Ah ! I was wearing this white buttoned down shirt and it had a collar ... the pants had black vertical stripes that fitted me pretty well . I ... dont exactly remember the rest . But if you want ... i can check with my director since it was the costume for the play . " I said honestly .

"Okay ... have you been to the kitchen before ? If so , do you know whats on the counter ?"

I adjusted my watch on my right wrist while speaking , " I've been to the kitchen to help throw the trash out with Claire ... but i didnt consume any food that day since i had lunch with her beforehand . I didnt take a good look at what they were serving though ... and neither do i know whats on the counter ."

"Okay , that would be all ." The officer finished up his last sentence for his report before smiling and shaking hands with Jeon .

Right after his interrogation was completed , he went to the empty seat beside Claire as she was waiting for him. He smiled at her , telling her that everything went rather smoothly and nothing could exactly go wrong since all he said was true . He believed in justice .

Just at this moment , Taehyung set foot into the station as well . They were then told to wait for him before joining him in a joint interrogation — if it ever made sense .

"This way please , the two of you ." The same officer dropped by and brought the two of them to another room that was more spacious as compared to the previous one after Taehyung was done with his part alone .

They were given another bottle of water to drink .

"The reason why im calling the two of you here is to have a small discussion about something that Taehyung had brought up before a few days ago . "

"Subsequently, they met up privately a few times and hit it off quite well , but a few days ago they weren't on good terms ..." Taehyung ended off with a light note before trying to hide his small smirk .

"Taehyung said there was something going on between Jungkook and Mackenzie since they suddenly stopped talking . Maybe they had an argument before ? "

"I know that both of you are public figures so i would take extra care to ensure that your words are confidential and wouldn't leak out to the public . So tell me Jungkook , do you flirt with girls alot ? You dont have to be embarrassed about it though ."

Jungkook's cheeks immediately turned beet red as he defended himself that he was a shy boy and did nothing of that sort unless it was to a girl whom he really liked , for example , Claire . He was sweating non- stop and biting his lips — he was very nervous and sensitive about the topics relating to girls. However , Taehyung frowned and folded his arms , displeased with how he was trying to act so innocent , he doesnt believe that Jungkook would have been THAT pure  .

All he knew was that he needed to convince that his statement was true .

"You can ask everyone ! Mackenzie had hearts in her eyes shooting out to Jungkook when he danced . She was fangirling like some little slut she is and they met separately, i am sure of it ! With me , all she does is to pester me to practice with her since we are partners , isnt that normal ? I would obviously spend more time with her but all we did is to continue practicing because we care about the play . You might think that one of us here is the murderer but im telling you , it is definitely not me . " Taehyung nodded furiously , looking at the officer in the eye .

"You mentioned that they weren't on good terms afterwards ... what happened then ?" The officer shot back at the two male , silencing them up ultimately since none of them knew how to reply anymore .

Jungkook was desperate to find a way to clear his name and show how innocent he truely was to the officer . He grew up with boys , mostly . He didnt had many chances to interact with girls and because of that , whenever he gets close to any of them , he gets slightly nervous . The lie was going to become the truth if Jungkook didn't know how to prove to the officer but Taehyung was starting to enjoy it .
