Devin Greene smiles at Clay Jensen's praised while she continued to jot down her sentence for an assignment she was currently working on.
''We just need to work on structure,-'' Clay furrows his brows, shaking his head in a subtly motion as he points out with his red pen. ''and you used the word unique like, seven times.''
Devin snickers.
''Shut it,'' Jeffery Atkins looks back at Clay and nods his head. ''Continue, Clay.''
''If one thing is unique, the other six should probably be, um..'' He trails off. He cocked his head to the side, trying to find what exactly to describe this predicament. ''something else.''
''What's wrong with unique?'' Jeff questions. ''If something's unique, it means it's different right?''
Clay nods his head, interacting with Jeff's argument.
''So, I'm saying here is that, like, this type of literature is different than other kinds of literature. I mean, it is.''
Devin drops her pencil in the binding of her notebook and smiles a humerus one. ''Word of the day, babe?''
He points a finger at Clay. ''Clay's the one who told me to expand my vocabulary.''
Devin giggles at his comeback. He was defensive against his consistent use of the word, unique.
It's been a whole month since Hannah Baker detached from the group and became best friends with the new girl in town, Jessica Davis and soon Alex Standall, the next new kid that moved in. It's also been a month since Jeff and Devin were back together and Fiona and Caleb yet bothered the couple.
Things were running smoothly between the two.
Alyssa Greene was recovering from her surgery on schedule and has now returned to work.
It was weird to say how the group what was once Devin, Jeff, Clay, Hannah and Kat shifted to Devin, Jeff, Clay and Tony. It still bothered Devin how she didn't have a female friend by her side, by the effort the guys put to take charge in some what of a characteristic for a female friend made it up to Devin.
However, it was currently just Devin Greene, Clay Jensen and Jeff Atkins sitting across from each other that day in the library, third period. Clay managed to transfer his third period class to continue last years tutoring sessions for Jeff given that baseball season is coming up.
