Elizabeth's POV

It's been two weeks since Charles and I got married and things have only been getting worse. I thought that after we get married things would get better but I was wrong. My mom just doesn't stop nagging. I had to quit my job because Charles said he didn't want me to embarrass him which it's totally fine with me since I'll be writing my final exam and I'm gonna need all the time I can get to study.

Charles won't even talk to me and most of the time his not at home. This house has gotten very lonely even though it has all the things you could possibly want but sometimes we all need someone to talk to. Michael had been coming here from time to time. Luckily today Marry came over to keep me company.

"You need to stop complaining, you have this whole house all to yourself, maids to do whatever you want them to do and anything money can possibly buy. What more do you want?"

"I know but it just gets so lonely. Even when you have all this you just fell incomplete."

"So where is that husband of yours anyway?"

"He went on a business tip in China a week ago, he should be back by Monday or any moment from today."

"China?" She said giving me a confused expression.

"Yes, that's what I just said."

"Strange thing because I saw him in Aston two days ago."

"You saw him in Aston? What was he doing there? In fact, what were you doing there?"

"We had a function there, a couple where trowing a party and they needed some help. By the time we finished, it was already late for us to drive so they booked us a hotel room at fragment hotel where I saw him." So he was lying to me, but why? That was the question I couldn't answer.

"It probably slipped my mind, he is always busy. So times he barely has time to eat."

"Anyways, I want you to please tell Michael to leave me alone."

"Michael? What has he done."

"I think you should ask him that, always I have to go I have work. I'll try and visit tomorrow."

She hugged me before leaving before closing the door behind her.

There it was again, I felt so lonely and so empty. I could fell that something was wrong but I just didn't know what it was like something was missing.

I walked into the TV room to see if there were any movies to watch. Nowadays that's the only thing I do. After a few movies, I fell asleep on the couch before I was woken by Michael yelling from downstairs.

"Is anybody home?" I heard Michael yelling from downstairs. He had suddenly gotten to use to this house that he acted as if it was his own. I'm pretty sure he had even made himself a spear key.

"Michael, can you please keep it down. Who invited you anyway?"

"Don't act like you not happy to see since your husband leaves you alone in thus empty hell whole." He was right, I was happy to see him. "Anyways, how is my favourite sister in law."

"I'm your lovely sister in law."

He took a seat and making himself at home with his legs on the table. If Charles was here he would be dead. For some reason, Charles is the only one I think about nowadays.

"I heard this really funny joke from a friend and I thought you might wanna hear it."

"Okay go a heard."

"If a man is married his wife's sister becomes his sister in law, her brother becomes his brother in law and her mother becomes his mother in law so what does the wife become?"

"I don't know, what else can she became?"

"She becomes the law."

"Every funny Michael, besides women are not that bossy."

"Whatever." He said rolling his eyes. How is that husband of yours anyway."

"He is lying to me and I don't know why."

"What makes you think that?"

"Because Mary was just here a few minutes ago and she said she saw him in Aston after he told he would be going on a business trip to China."

"He probably made a mistake."

"Really? We are talking about Charles Greene over here."

"You have a point, but what makes you think you can trust Mary."

"She is my friend, she has never lied to me. The other day Charles received a call from this girl named Dion when I answered it he flipped out on me."

"Did you say, Dion?"

"Yes, is something wrong?"

"If it's who I think it is this can't be good."

"Who is this Dion anyways?"

"It's not my place to tell you, ask your husband."

"Now you acting like Charles, always giving me warning but never actually tell me anything."

Something about the way Michael was drip lost in his thoughts told me I didn't wanna find out.

"What does he tell you?" He said folding his arms with a smirk on his face.

"That you are a bad guy and that I should stay away from you."

His expression suddenly changed. I couldn't read his expression anymore. It was as if he was lost in his thoughts.

"Michael, can I ask you a question and I want you to tell me the truth. Why does Charles hate you so much."

"It's because I'm responsible for what happened to my older brother Nick."

"You had an older brother? What happened to him?"

"I don't wanna talk about it, I'm leaving."

I don't know if that was a joke or anything but it seemed like they had so many secrets that I didn't know.

After he left I decided to take a walk in the garden to clear my mind. I had so many questions on my mind that I needed to get answers to or else I was going to explode with questions. First of all, I wanted to start by why Charles has been lying to me.

After I had returned from my walk in the garden I heard the sounds of plates and folks in the kitchen so I decided to find out who it was since I had asked the maids to take an off day since there is nothing here for them to do.

And there he was, I was finally going to confront him.
