Matchmaker pt.1 ✨

"Come on Kendra we're going to be late" I hear Queen banging on my door rather loudly. I huff while finishing straightening my hair. It was probably not a good idea on the account that I am going to a party but by the time that revelation hit I was too far into it.

Making sure my shits bounce I take a comb to it. I put it into a pony-tail making sure to slick down my edges and I tell myself that I look good. Maybe I'll even look better than Vanessa.

I throw on my black jeans, and my black and red 11s and a white t-shirt. I spray some perfume and put on my black leather jacket. I add some earrings, wrist bangles and look at myself in the mirror. Everything seems well put together. Damn, I sure do know how to dress.

Grabbing my bag I open my door to see Queen, Jade, and David waiting for me. Queen is wearing a black turtle neck long sleeved shirt with a red plaid skirt, tights and her Doc Martens. Jade is wearing a yellow off the shoulder crop top and black ripped jeans and black heels. David look average.

"Ready to party" I say with fake enthusiasm and Jade narrows her eyes at me. She threatens me saying if I don't shape up by the time we get there she'll knock my ass out.

Huffing I tell her that I will and Queen asks me where Jermaine is. I tell her that he is at an away game and he won't be back until Monday. It sucks not having him around as much, he's so focused on basketball right now we barely see each other.

Taking in a deep breath I toss David the keys while I grab my coat and head out the door. In my head I remind myself that tonight is about having fun.

David pulls up to Vanessa's house and I can't believe how hectic it looks. Vanessa is gonna get her ass beat that's for sure. The white folks can get away with house parties like this but us coloreds?

Nah!

We step inside and instantly the heat hits us. Heat mixed with alcohol, weed, and mustiness, this is going to be great. The room is blazing with loud music, people are waving cups in the air dancing along to the track. A Nicki Minaj song blares through the speakers as people sing along to the lyrics.

David leaves us to go find his friends and Queen leaves with him, most likely to go find Rowan. Jade asks what we should do first and my first thought is to try and find friends. We look around for any of our friends and when I spot Andre and Mercedes I point them out.

We walk over and in a second Mercedes slaps Andre. Our jaws drop at the sudden contact and Mercedes stalks away. Andre's hand is over his cheek and he seems shocked as well. I vote to go after Mercedes while Jade talks to Andre.

I try and follow her throughout the house until I feel a hand on my arm. I immediately snatch it back, "Get off of me!" I roar and I hear a familiar voice.

"Whoa there, it's just me" Cole announces while appearing in front of me. He's drinking out of a red cup and the first thing I notice is his fit. He's actually wearing a gray Nike Tech with black huaraches. He also smells like he just got out of the shower despite the mustiness lingering in the air. He looks good actually.

Pushing that to the back of my head I clear my throat, "Sorry, you scared the hell out of me" I apologize and he holds his hands up.

"You made it, I thought for a second you weren't gonna come" He says and I shrug my shoulders.

"You were looking for me?" I question and he laughs.

"Nah, Lincoln was looking for David and since you and David are siblings well you know" He tries to explain and I fold my arms.
