A/N: I'm going to attempt to write from Vincent's POV for a good section of this chapter since I find him so damn difficult to write for. Do you know how hard it is to write from an emotionless and social que awkward individuals perspective? Extremely, to say the least. Vincent:

Today Lily brought another child home. I held no opinion of the matter but it seemed to upset the young female who stays here. She has been extremely angry lately and I've noticed that it seems to leak out of her. When I noticed this I asked Nathaniel's opinion on it.

Flashback

"Why is so much red and black escaping the young girl?"

Nathaniel looked over at me from where he'd sat down to rest after stretching his muscles. His eyes followed my line of sight and looked at the younger pink haired female of the house.

"Vincent, what in the hell are you talking about? All I see is Helena being a brat to Lily and making sure everyone else knows it."

I looked at him with a tilted head before looking back at the tiny female again. A strange substance seemed to be leaking out of the tiny body and it was black and red. I tried again to describe it just to make sure he wasn't making a joke at me or whatever they say that is when others laugh for no reason while the recipient is muted.

"You do not see the red and black tentacles protruding from her body?"

Nathaniel looked at me as though I had lost my mind and slowly responded, "Nooo. Maybe we should ask Lily if she can take you to get your eyes checked though. I'm sure there might possibly be a mental disorder that can be associated with the problem you're having. Do I have a tail and ears? How about Lily? Does she have wings and a halo?"

Before I could respond he snorted and left my side. I gave a sigh as I continued observing the strange image of tentacles protruding from the girl.

Flashback End

It had started when she begun to 'manifest' such a strong emotion and now my eyes kept picking up weird ... hallucinations? I had gone to find a book on "Seeing things that others can't" and most of it was about taking some sort of drug in order to 'tap into the other'. There was no reason to actually take the book seriously though after seeing a strange number of drawings with half naked or fully naked people, sometimes animals, in various states of promiscuity.

Nathaniel had caught me examining one of the drawings, blushed and then furiously shouted at my indecent behavior. Which I was unaware of but had kept my mouth closed in order for Nathaniel to get over his embarrassment. That's another thing, I've begun to better understand facial expressions better. If it was before I'd have probably thought Nathaniel was honestly mad instead of just embarrassed for looking at the image as well. Then again, maybe he was a tiny bit mad.

After going through various books that I found in the Library on this topic, I'd finally given up on finding anything that could help me to better understand what was going on with my vision. That was until Damon's butler, Taki, grabbed me and ran off with me over his shoulder. This uncompromising position would've scared anyone or maybe embarrassed them but I laid there with my head hanging down his back in thought.

I've not really spoken to the Butler except for a polite nod in passing but it seems today is the day everything would change. Taki seemed on a mission and I wasn't going to stop him. I was simply waiting until we arrived at wherever his destination was.

Soon he opened and shut a door with us on the other side. From my upside down position I could just make out the changed flooring to a mahogany rug which indicated we were in Damon's office.

"Taki, is there a reason that you've thrown a child over your shoulder as though you're in the business of smuggling children? You seem a little to comfortable standing there if I may say so," came Damon's voice from where I guessed was his desk.

"Master," he immediately knelt down with me still over his shoulder which made for a very awkward few seconds, before standing up and speaking, "this boy is similar to me."

I didn't understand so I stayed laying against his back as the blood rushed to my face from the uncomfortable position.

"A part Demon?"

There was, shock? in his voice at that.

"No," Taki stated simply, "He's a close cousin of a Demon. An Emoreiken. It makes sense why he is having such a difficult time expressing himself and understanding facial expressions."

"An Emoreiken? I've never heard of it."

I hadn't either but since that's what I was it would be best if I learned it fast.

"Can I be let down? The blood is rushing to my head and beginning to become uncomfortable," I mumbled before Taki could answer.

"Oh yes, my apologies," he said before setting me right and putting a hand on top of my head. It was unexpected but I didn't push him away.

"An Emoreiken, as I said, is a close cousin of a Demon. They eat emotions. Similar to the Demon, they are humanoid in appearance but where Demons grow extra appendages, Emoreiken mimic Humans completely. The only noticeable difference that set them apart from Humans is their lack of emotions. Unfortunately, that won't change until they feed on another's emotions."

"Feed on emotions? Does it adversely effect the person they eat?"

Taki looked like he was trying not to snort or something else undignified, "Master, do Demons adversely effect humans when we eat them?"

"Surely eating emotions and tearing someone limb from limb is different."

Damon looked slightly confused.

"Demons feed on the physical where as Emoreiken feed on the mental. They tear apart and take for their own what was once someone else's. Much like Demons take the meat, bones, and nutrients of the human and digest it for 'fuel'. Emoreiken won't have any of their own emotions until they feed on someone else who has a strong emotion that is visible to them. Emotions are just as tangible to them as an arm is to us."

Damon looked thoughtfully at me and I just stared back at him. I wonder what he's thinking.

"Do you wish to understand emotions? I'm also guessing that without emotions you don't even realize you're hungry but I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're starving. Taki, will you take him on a Mission and help him feed? It would be interesting to see how much he'll change once he gets food into his stomach. At least the kind that he needs."

Taki bowed respectfully and grabbed my hand before we exited the room.

"Let's go get you something to eat, Little Riek."

I didn't respond but continued to follow him since I was also wondering how much I would change after eating someone.

A/N: Okay okay, I couldn't stop thinking about it and so I had to write about it. After I made up the species and knew who was one I just had to write it. I thought about waiting but ... fuck it! It has been a good day today for me so I'm spoiling you lot. Now, where is my hugs? lol
