Poem #158

169 17 7

"I know that everyone thinks I hold a purpose
that I can be different
that I can take a chance
make a change
i'm sorry
i can't do that
that's not who I am anymore
i'm not the girl with bright eyes and a big heart
i'm not the girl who talks to strangers and loves pink
i've changed
i'm sorry I couldn't be the daughter you wanted
my eyes dimmed and my heart is smashed
i can't talk to people because the voices in my head tie my tongue up and pink is too happy for me
i prefer black
so I'm sorry,
i can't fix the world if I can't even fix me."
