Earlier that day, you had decided to go and see the dragon after training. Well, if it was still there. Part of your hoped it would be, the other part didn't. If it was gone, it could have either left the island or was roaming around in the forest. If it was there, it would've been obvious that it was still injured and needed help. While that was exciting to you, it was also nerve-wracking. You had your doubts that the creature would be friendly a second time, but it had spared you before, so could it have been worth a shot?
You arrived at the spot and looked around. There was nothing so far. The area was very quiet and looked mostly undisturbed, aside from a bush that looked to have been munched down to nothing. You found this strange, but you continued on. An eaten bush wasn't going to help you find the dragon.
You walked around a bit and then you spotted a cave. You looked inside and saw nothing. You grew to wonder if your theory had been correct. Had it been able to leave the island? If so, that was good. It would be out of danger from the village. But then you felt something breathing on your back. You froze, getting the same terrified chills you had when you'd encountered the creature before.
You slowly turned and came face to face with the Armor Blade, its blue eyes piercing into you once more. You stared at it in fear. It gave you a hard stare back. You slowly tried to walk around it, not daring to fully turn your back to it. It snapped at you but it missed on purpose. You yelped and fell over. You scrambled away from it and it curled up in the cave, licking its wing. You saw that its wing wasn't sitting against its body right. Is it actually broken? The rock didn't look like it would've been that heavy for a dragon, but then again, what do I know about dragon bone structure? You wondered. Maybe that's why it's still here. But there's no way its wing could heal right like that. It'll lose its wing entirely if it's not fixed. You suddenly got an idea. It was crazy, but...you wanted to help.
With that, you hurried away and luckily it didn't chase you. Back at the Meade Hall, after you'd had Hiccup over, you were joined up with the others. You had merely brought a basket of snacks for you and your family to share since all of you had already eaten dinner.
"Alright. Where did Arrow go wrong in the ring today?" Gobber asked.
"I mistimed my somersault dive. It was sloppy. It threw off my reverse tumble."
"Yeah, we noticed," Ruff said.
"No, no, you were great. That was so 'Arrow'." Snotlout said somewhat sarcastically. Snotlout's feelings towards Arrow were weird. You knew that Snotlout always tried to be better than his main competitor, but he also had admiration for Arrow simply because he knew Arrow had good skills. Of course, they were skills Snotlout either couldn't or didn't know how to use. He would try, but he would always make a fool of himself. You felt that he tried a little too hard.
"He's right, you have to be tough on yourselves. Where did Hiccup go wrong?" Gobber said. It was then you noticed Hiccup walking over to a table by himself with only a small drink in hand. He was wet from the rain and he looked both annoyed and sad. He mostly looked lonely as the others made fun of him.
"Uh, he showed up?" Ruff said.
"He didn't get eaten," Tuff said.
"He's never where he should be," Arrow said, seemingly implying something else with that, but you decided not to make any accusations.
"Thank you, Arrow. You need to live and breathe this stuff. The Dragon Manual." Gobber dropped the book onto the table that the others were at. "Everything we know about every dragon we know of."
While he was talking, you'd gestured to the boys to get up and they followed you without question. You took the basket over and sat down next to Hiccup along with your family. You smiled at him and pushed the basket his way.
