Aislin was frantic, she couldn't hear him, and she couldn't feel him. It was all wrong. Where was he? He was banished from his kingdom and then she had the magical dream. She wanted to tell him but he had vanished on her after the heart wrenching confession.
Was he avoiding her that she might say no or was he in some kind of trouble? They are always in contact and his silence was making her terribly anxious.
And her worry multiplied tenfold when Hermit made his special appearance.
But he had been manner less this time. Not only he had waked her up from a probable future predicting dream, he had also left without telling her anything about Ayduin.
"What did you see Aislin, it can help Ayduin?" He asked as soon as she opened her eyes.
Half asleep she told him everything in a grudging tone. His expression went from surprise to awe, to pride, to happiness and joy after a victory. Seeing his lost in multiple emotions, Aislin grabbed his hand looked for the snowflake mark, instead she saw a tiny lantern.
She looked up in a questioning glance.
"Yeah, it is the mark you think it is. Not everyone gets a same." Hermit said smiling looking at her with certain suspicion and understanding.
She looked at him wide-eyed and open mouth, he knew about Ayduin?
"So Ayduin is the next generation Sentinel?" Hermit said confirming her thoughts.
"You knew?" She still asked.
"I guessed." He said not elaborating on how or why.
"But now I can't contact him, he is... he is gone all silent." She said sounding worried.
"It may be because he is back at guardian's place and going through the process of stripping of his title," Hermit said not sounding very sure.
"No, that's not it. Last time he was there we could talk." She said whiny and agitated now.
Hermit eyebrows shot up in surprise and awe but he didn't say anything.
"That means the banishment mark is in effect. It is like removing a location from the map, your mind can't find the place to connect to, can't find the person whose mind you are linked to. It makes him existent but ignored. The mark if left for too long can make a being insane or actually disappear. Its the worst kind of punishment Aislin, he has been abandoned by him home and others will be out to kill him. Imagine living like that forever." Hermit explained gently.
"Help him?" She said suddenly, her eyes pleading.
Hermit was taken aback by her sincerity and desperate look in her eyes.
After a moment of hesitation, he said nodded.
"I don't make any promises but I will try. If he is actually a guardian chosen by Flames itself then it might be of some use." Hermit said already forming a plan in his mind.
And next instant he vanished in thin air, this time she was not surprised. She sighed and felt the nauseous feeling in her gut one you get before an exam or interview. She actually prayed for Ayduin to be unharmed.

"How did you find me?" Ayduin asked as his arrow almost hit Hermit who dodged it with ease.
"I am that powerful," Hermit stated it casually like a fact.
"I heard you are a Sentinel," Ayduin said relaxing from his warrior stance now.
"Well, I will try to be modest and agree with the rumor not elaborating on my talents." He said shrugging cooly.
"You might know that I am banished," Ayduin said carefully since a banished person is usually hated or unwelcome.
"I know a lot more than that, your girl dreamt stuff and she worried like hell for you," Hermit said and carefully looked for Ayduin's reaction on this news.
"Ah, Aislin, she might be worried. I am not able to talk to her. We always talked no matter what barrier we had, we can even talk without the bracelet." Ayduin said sounding all sad and wistful now.
"At least you agree that Aislin is your girl," Hermit said grinning to cheer up the ice prince.
Ayduin looked at him surprised on how minutely he captured the details but avoided any explanations.
"I may have a way Ayduin. You know that warriors of the volcano have already issued a secret death sentence on you and fairies are concocting spells and magic to control your mind. Many will be out there to harm you and you will have no place to go." Hermit said.
When Ayduin didn't respond and allowed the graveness of situation to settle in.
"Now they are even more scared since people are scared of the things unknown to them. They fear the power of Sentinel." Hermit said now placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"Is there any solution then? I need to talk to her." He said.
And both Hermit and Ayduin realized the weirdness and vastness of his words. He didn't want to be a guardian or return to being a Prince. The thing he wanted most was to hear her again!
"Being a Sentinel can help you. We are the ultimate guardians and we have the power you might not know about, amazing cool powers." Hermit said smiling now.
"You talk like her sometimes,"Ayduin commented with a slight smile of his own.
"Like in an earthly manner, yeah well I have spent most of my time there. That is what I am saying, it is a safe place. Being a Sentinel you can cross dimensions, why not go to earth and meet the one you so much desire." Hermit said finally giving the idea.
Ayduin was completely shocked. He waited for Hermit to dismiss the idea as bad or just a joke but it seemed he was serious.
"Is that possible? No, I should ask is it even the right thing to do?" Ayduin asked looking distressed.
"For now it is the only solution," Hermit said with a tone of sympathy.
Ayduin sighed and tried to reason in his head, finding reasons for he should stay. He realized as much of a loner and frozen he was, he didn't want to leave his kingdom unprotected when he knew Darkmir was here.
"Folred, what should I tell him?" He asked suddenly feeling love for his right-hand man, more like a younger man.
"We will think about him later, I promise we will find a way to bring him too but for now you need to survive Ayduin. Darkmir is here and Flames might know that a solo Sentinel is not enough hence you are branded now." Hermit said rather gravely for himself.
Maybe this was a necessary sacrifice as he will curse the land he will rule, he needed to stay away from all this. And though he tried to find a million reasons to stay back meeting her was the one reason that negated all the other valid reasons.
"Fine, I will go. What do I need to do?" Ayduin said still unsure, still worried and still not ready.
"Oh not much. Perks of being a Sentinel, dimension travel comes easy. For the first time, I will help you. Just need to picture the place you want to go and voila, we are there." He said and even before Ayduin could ask how did Hermit know for the first time how the earth looked like he felt a strong pull in his gut.
The world dissolved around him, he felt dizzy as the darkness or maybe water or maybe a tornado engulfed him. He had no idea what happened but everything buzzed around him. His eyes played tricks, sometimes he saw trees, sometimes clouds, sometimes sparkly dust and sometimes castles made of lava.
Suddenly his feet hit a solid ground and he almost stumbled ahead but caught himself in time. Gasping for air he looked around, the world still shaking around him or maybe it was his head.
"Welcome to Earth, Prince of Elm Lenora," Hermit said with a wide proud smile on his face.
