JOHNNY'S POINT OF VIEW
•••

"why are you being nice to me?" i asked mackenzie, taking a seat beside her.

"are you calling me mean?" she folded her arms in mock anger. i let out a small chuckle. "okay, i'm not being nice. i just wanna know what's wrong." she replied.

"nothing." i shrugged. "liar!" she exclaimed. i grinned, until i remembered that this was mackenzie ziegler. i can't be laughing with her.

the only reason i'm even with her is for the ice cream. and that's cause i'm a sucker for it because...you know...it's ice cream!

"okay. i wont bother you. but we've reached." mackenzie stated, realising i wasn't gonna spill the tea.

i nodded, and followed her out the car. "we'll be back in about an hour." she told her driver, who nodded, and then went off to find a parking spot.

mackenzie and i walked on into jemily's coffee shop. we found a booth and a waitress came over to take our order. "i'll have a mint chocolate ice cream in a cone, and he'll have cookie dough ice cream, with extra chocolate chips in a cup." mackenzie told the waitress confidently. "i think..." she trailed off, and looked towards me. okay maybe not so confidently. i nodded. "yup! that's it." she smiled, obviously proud of herself for getting the order right.

once the waitress walked off, we sat it an awkward silence for a while, but when we heard the bell for the shop ring, mackenzie looked up, and her face instantly filled with dread.

i turned around and saw what she looked so upset about — brandon and molly, along with the football team and cheerleaders. they were a huge group, and that made them seem pretty intimidating.

"this can't be happening." mackenzie groaned under her breath. i couldn't help but feel bad for her.

on top of that, just then molly noticed us. with a smirk, she grabbed brandon's arm, and pulled him towards us.

"soo kenzie. what are you doing here?" molly questioned, in a sickly sweet tone. i was about to defend mackenzie, until i realised she was already doing so. she wasn't the type to get scared easily.

"not that is any of your business, i'm here for ice cream, but now i'm debating whether or not i should leave, cause its suddenly started to smell ever since you've walked over. but then again, it could just be the trash behind you." she answered, pointedly glancing towards brandon, who just ignored her.

"yeah well, i'm here with my boyfriend. and you're here with...johnny? how much did you have to pay him to get him to come along?" molly chuckled, and brandon joint in.

mackenzie rolled her eyes, trying to put on a don't carish attitude, but i could tell it was bothering her that brandon was so rude.

i stood up. "one, you're here with brandon; a cheater. and two, it's just sad because he was obviously too embarrassed to date you publicly, and i doubt he would have ever told anyone unless mackenzie questioned him. three, you agreed to date someone who already has a girlfriend, which is sad, because we see just how desperate you are, and four, mackenzie didn't pay me to come with her, i asked her out, and five? mackenzie's my girlfriend, so you and your cheater of a boyfriend who'll probably end up cheating on you can leave and get back with all your fake friends." i snapped at them.
