I couldn't help but let out an agitated sigh as I slammed my car door shut and began walking towards the entrance of Westover high school. I never liked school very much but it's about ten times worse when you go to school with that one crush you can never bring yourself to talk to.

It's my junior year of high school and I've ben crushing on the same guy since freshman year, we share almost every class together but I just can't seem to find the courage to mutter a single hi.

"What's got your head in the clouds?" Asked my best friend Alyssa the second I got to my locker.

"Take a while guess," I said with a hint of sarcasm in my voice.

"It's Valentino again isn't it?" Alyssa enquired.

"When is it not Valentino?" I asked with a shake of my head.

"Don't look now but he's walking down the hall," she whispered.

I quickly turned around and sure enough Sage Valentino was strutting down the hallway happily munching on an apple.

Sage Valentino, the bad boy of Westover high, he had perfectly tan skin that went perfectly with his defined muscles and tattoo that decorated his forearm no one understood the meaning of the large compass and map, or what the small numbers on his knuckles meant, but then again no one ever wanted to ask.

How can someone look that intimidating while eating an apple? I thought to my self. Suddenly a light bulb came an in my head and I was struck with a brilliant idea.

I soon realized that I had been so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even realize that I had been staring into his stormy grey eyes the entire time. That was my first mistake.

Slowly Sage began walking in my direction and before I knew what was happening he had his hands on either side of my head leaving me trapped against the lockers.

"Do you have a problem with how I look or something?" Valentino asked in his thick Australian accent. His 6'3 frame towering over my small height of 5'5

"W-what?" I stuttered not knowing what he meant.

"Well it's just that you seemed to be staring at me for a long time and I was just wondering if you founded something wrong with my appearance?" He asked again.

"Well I mean you would certainly be better off if you wiped that glare off your face," I spat beginning to get agitated. That was my second mistake.

His eyes glazed over with anger and he took a deep breath before asking me another question. "What's your name."

"Annabelle," I replied confidently.

"Annabelle is too much of a mouthful, I'm gonna call you Bells," he smirked.

"But that's not my name," I groaned. I have a major problem with people giving me nicknames.

"Well I don't necessarily care so Bells it is," he insisted just as the bell rang telling us to get to class.

"See you in class Bells," he whispered into my ear before continuing on his path down the hallway.

"Oh my God that was amazing!" Alyssa squealed grabbing onto my arm.

"Yea whatever the guys a complete ass," I scoffed.

"Come on are you really that mad he gave you a nickname?" She questioned.

"Yes, and speaking of nicknames I finally figured out that code name we're gonna use for Valentino," I said confidently.

"Ohhh what is it?" Alyssa asked.

"Apple," I stated before slipping into my class just as the bell rang.

"Ms. Wright you are late to class!" my teacher Mrs. Nucan screeched from her desk.

"No I wasn't I was over the line when the bell rang," I explained.

"But you weren't in your seat so therefore you will be sitting in detention after school today," she said as she filled out a detention slip.

"Of course," I muttered before taking the slip and sitting in the only seat left which just happened to be in front of Valentino.

"Pssst Bells," Valentino whispered for the millionth time.

"What do you want Valentino?" I sighed as I finally turned around.

"First off my name is not Valentino, that's my last name," he scowled pushing himself forward so he was slightly hovering above me.

"Does it look like I care Tino?" I smirked. Two can play at this game.

"Oh now you're just trying to get yourself killed," he growled.

"Just get to the point," I demanded.

"Do you have a pencil?" He asked with a blank stare.

I just rolled my eyes before handing him a pencil and turning back in my seat.

The rest of the day went by without a hitch, I never got my pencil back from Valentino but I had other things to worry about. When I told my dad about my detention he immediately got mad and I could hear him smashing things around the house. Now I'm on my way to detention and still shaking from the phone call, I was absolutely terrified for detention to end.

As soon as I got into detention the first thing I noticed was the sleeping teacher at the front and the single detention slip sitting next to him, I quickly placed my slip on top of the other one and began to think about what I was going to do when I got home, maybe I could find something to do and go home once I know he'll be asleep?

"Well someone's deep in thought," said a voice from behind me.

I quickly turned around and couldn't help but roll my eyes when I saw Valentino making his way towards the seat next to me.

"That's none of your business Tino," I sighed slouching down into me seat.

"Well nice to see someone still has a death wish," he smirked turning his desk to face me.

"Yea whatever," I scoffed.

"Seriously though what are you thinking about?" He asked his blank features turning into a look of curiosity.

I let out a sigh before telling him only part of the truth. "I'm trying to figure out what I'm gonna do once I get home."

"Well that looked a lot more interesting when you were thinking about it," he shrugged leaning back in his chair. "So Bells... what do you like to do for fun?"

"I dunno I usually just sit in my room and read or watch movies, I don't get out much," I admitted.

"Man, you have a really boring life," he chuckled.

"Oh yea? And what exactly do you do for fun Tino?" I asked.

"Just stuff..." he simply said.

"Stuff he says," I scoff.

Suddenly his phone started ringing, he quickly picked it up and said only a few words before standing up and ending the call.

"Speaking of stuff, I gotta go," he said walking out the door suddenly he paused and turned back towards me. "You know you won't get in trouble if you leave right?"

With that he walked out the door, I quickly got up and decided to follow him silently suddenly figuring out what I was going to do for the night... I was going to figure out what stuff is... that was my third mistake.
