Don't Let Rin Read Your Letters

Shore's eyes widened as he stared at his sister. Ander looked around the room wildly, searching in a panic.

"Ubi est bestia?" She demanded. 

"Ander?" Shore asked cautiously. She stared at him, as if she didn't believe he was really there. 

"Shore?" she questioned. He nodded. She jumped to her feet and pulled the knife from the wall, pointing towards his throat. "Prove it."

"Prove it?" he echoed. What did she mean? How was he supposed to prove that he was himself? "Um, how am I supposed to-"

"PROVE IT!"

"Geez Ander-gander, calm down!" She lowered the knife instantly, a grin spreading across her face. 

"SHORE!" Ander tackled him to the ground. "I'M BACK! HALLELUJAH PRAISE THOSE DANCING BLUE EYES!" She sighed in content. "I miss those eyes. They really knew how to waltz...." She stared off dreamily and Shore smiled.

"Yep." he confirmed. "You're back."

Apple leaned against the trunk of a tree, beaming at the letter in her talons. Ember really did have a way with words...

"Hey Apple!" Rin's voice cut through the silence. she stopped, registering the look o her cousin's face before grinning slyly. "What are you reading?" 

"Nothing." Apple admitted, blushing lightly as she started to fold the letter up. 

"Well, then I suppose it won't matter if I do....THIS!" Rin snatched the letter and took off for the trees.

"RIN GIVE IT BACK!!!" Apple screeched, chasing after. 

"AHA!" Rin declared. "I knew it! It's a loooooove letter from your LOOOOOOOOOOOVER!!!!!"

"HE IS NOT MY LOVER!" Rin laughed.

"Deny it all you want honey, but Amber is HAPPENING!" 

"MANDARIN, I WILL MURDER YOU!!!!" Rin only laughed harder, stopping at a tree to read the letter.

"Ander woke up by the way." she commented, skimming the words for blackmail.

"She did?" Apple stopped. "Is she okay?"

"She woke up and threw a knife at Shore's head while screeching in Latin. Yea, she's good."

"Only Ander...."

"There it is!" Rin exclaimed, poking at spot at the letter. "MY DEAREST APPLE," she recited, over-exaggerating. 

"RIN I SWEAR TO THE MOONS."

"THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US IS TOO MUCH TO BEAR. I COUNT THE DAYS UNTIL I CAN KISS YOU AGAIN-"

"IT DOES NOT SAY THAT!!!!"

"But he's thinking it!

"He is not!"

"Oh, yes he is! AND YOU'RE GONNA GROW UP AND GET MARRIED AND HAVE THE WEIRDEST LOOKING DRAGONETS IN THE WORLD!"

"SHUT UP!"

"Only if you tell me if he's a good kisser."

"How would I know? I've never kissed him!"

"Suuuuure you haven't."

"I HAVE NOT!"

"THEN WHY IS YOUR FACE SO RED!"

"BECAUSE I'M YELLING AT YOU!"

"OR IS IT BECAUSE YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT IT??!"

"Thinking about what?" Another voice interjected. Rin and Apple's mouths snapped shut as Rainkeeper stepped near them.

"Uh.....How much of that did you hear?" Rin questioned.

"Hardly any." Rainkeeper insisted. 

"Thank the moons." Apple whispered. Rainkeeper glanced between the two girls.

"....Do I want to know?"

"NO!" they yelled at the same time. 

"It's nothing!" Rin explained. "Girl stuff!"

"Boring really!" Apple added. "You wouldn't want to hear it." He glanced at them again, smirking slightly. 

"If you say so." He agreed before walking away. After he was out of earshot, Rin whipped back to Apple.

"That was too close." Apple sighed in relief.

"Oh. My. Moons." Rin declared. " YOU TOTALLY LOVE HIM BECAUSE IF YOU DIDN'T YOU WOULDN'T CARE WHAT YOUR DAD THOUGHT! I KNEW IT!!!"

"You're crazy!" Apple exploded, her face growing red.

"OH MY GOSH I HAVE TO GO TELL SHADOW!"

"SHADOW KNOWS ABOUT THIS?!?!"

"OF COURSE HE DOES! THIS IS PAYBACK FOR ALL THOSE YEARS YOU'VE BEEN NAGGING HIM ABOUT ROSE!"

"I'M STILL GONNA MAKE THAT HAPPEN!"

"THEN I'M GONNA MAKE AMBER HAPPEN TOO!"

"MANDARIN!!!!!!!!!"

"CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALALLA!!! EMBER AND APPLE FLYIN IN THE SKY-" Rin took off for the village. Apple grabbed a stick from the ground and chased after her.

"WHEN I'M THROUGH WITH YOU, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO HEAR ANYTHING!"
