Lena Adams Foster scanned her cell phone and sighed. Her parents did not text her or call her like they do every morning. She was worried, but figured it was work stuff for her mom and church stuff for her dad. In their age, they were still active.

Her work phone rang and she picked it up. Not knowing it would change her life. Her daughter Callie was there since she had 30 minutes before class started. Lena picked up her phone and answered it. "Hello?"

"Is this Lena Elizabeth Adams Foster? I'm Officer Gabriel Stiles. Washington P.D."

"This is she. What is this about?" she asked concerned and worried. Curious even.

"What is your relation to Dana and Stuart Adams?" he asked.

"I'm their daughter," Lena replied. "Are they okay?"

"Their was a car accident late last night. A drunk driver went over the center divide and crashed into your parents car. Your dad did not have time to react. I'm sorry, but they both died instantly."

Lena dropped the phone. "Mama? What's wrong?" Callie asked as she picked up the phone and got the shock of her life. "Thank you for calling," Callie added as she got his information and ended the call. Tears in her eyes she knew her mama needed her.

She went to her mama and held her tight as Lena cried in her only daughter's chest. Callie texted her mom to come to Anchor Beach. Stef got their ten minutes later since she was off of work and ran in the office as she heard her wife cry and her daughter as well.

"What happened?" Stef asked.

"Grams and Gramps were killed by a drunk driver," Callie added. "An Officer Gabriel Stiles called. Washington P.D. called."

Stef sighed as she switched places with Callie and hugged her wife as Lena cried harder in her wife's chest. Lena told Callie to go on to her class. On the way, she bumped into Monte and told her the sad news.

"I'm sorry. How are you?" How is she?"

"Better," Callie added. "She's with my mom."

"I will cancel all of her meetings. She's off as of now," she added. Callie nodded and called all of her brother's to call her ASAP.  A shit storm was about to happen and Callie would be their for her mama.

Ten minutes later, Caleb called Callie back. "Callie what's wrong?"

"Grams and Gramps were hit by a drunk driver. They died instantly. Call the others and tell them they haven't called me back," she added.

"What? How's mama?"

"Not good," she added. "But mom's with her."

"I will call mama later and tell the others. Callum is here with me," Caleb added as he ended the call. "What happened?" Callum asked. Caleb filled him in. Fifteen minutes later, the rest of the boys' found out. Ty wiped his tears as his husband held him tight.

"What now?" he asked. "My grandparents are gone." his husband held him tight as they sat on the couch. His other grandparents, Gretchen's parents never wanted him after Gretchen bailed after he was born and this left Lena heartbroken.

Lena had the next two weeks off and her parents wishes were that they wanted to be buried in Mission Bay where they met all those years ago. Callie called in a few favors and her grandparents bodies were flown to a morgue in Mission Bay. Lena was touched as she hugged her daughter.

"They loved me like I was their real granddaughter," Callie added. Lena nodded in a smile as Lena went to identify her parents' bodies with her wife and daughter for support.
