Kathrines pov:
I look into the hatchery, to see eggs already in here. Plus another section that leads off into different rooms. I look down and luckily there is a satchel.

I take the egg and set it on one of the empty pedestals. I pick up the satchel, and take out the book. I open to the first page and start to read.

Congratulations you found an egg and were able to unlock the hatchery. Your probably wondering why there are a bunch of eggs in here.

Well these are you first dragons to raise from birth. Every dragon queen will have to bond with baby dragons and help them grow up.

There are many eggs. One for each element. Of course there are egg mixtures but you will have to breed dragons to get those.

In here you will find a water, fire, earth, air, dark, and electric.

To hatch them you will have to warm them up. To do this you must set them on the podium and get a dragon to light a fire underneath it.

The egg will have to sit for one week with constant heat. Dragon fire can burn for a long time, but it's safe to keep a dragon near the eggs at all time.

When the dragon hatches you will need to take them to their pen. Each species has its own pens which you can find through the door.

They will stay in those pens for the first three months. Then they can be released into the normal areas.

It will take two months before they can fly on there own. And five months before they can fly with weight.

Dragons grow very quickly for their first couple months of life. Then they slow down and grow at a more gradual rate.

Good luck on hatching your eggs!

I close the book and look at the eggs. Well I'll play it safe and start with the egg that was just birthed. Since these have been sitting for a while it should be okay.

Before I start trying to hatch the eggs I want to see the areas. I go towards the hall way and just like on the normal area there are pens for every dragon species.

Only these are all open. I go through and look at all of them. Most seem to be the same but with there own twist.

Like the dark dragons pen is almost completely black with small pockets of light every now and then.

The other cool one was the sky and electric pens. The sky pen was very open and the whole room was very bright. The top of the mountain opened a little to let in natural light.

I also liked the electric one because the ground was all charred like it was struck by lightning. Plus the air felt more alive.

I know sounds crazy but it made my hair stick up and I swear I could hear a slight buzz in the air.

I left the pens and went back to the eggs. I look at the newly hatched egg closely. It's very delicate and the designs are so hypnotizing.

I look away and realize I need to call a dragon. I don't want to bother Aqua and Ruby is out, plus Fawn would be good at this I feel like.

I go into my mind and try to figure out how to call on Fawn through my mind. I finally feel like I can feel her emotions so I try it out.

"Fawn can you come to the hatchery please?" I ask through my mind hoping Fawn heard.

"Of course Kathrine, and good job speaking with me through my mind!" She says happily. I wait until I hear a swoosh of wings.

Then I see fawns head poke through. "So what do you need?" Fawn asks looking around.

"I was wondering if you could start the fire for the newly hatched egg. I know it would be a lot of work but could you watch it until it hatches?" I ask.

"Of course Kathrine. I'm happy to, I've only had one egg and I've been wanting another so this will be nice." Fawn says going towards the egg.

She takes a slow breath then gently breaths fire on to the egg. Once she is finished I walk over and look under the egg.

There is a small space around the egg that the fire comes out of. I look down and luckily the fire started.

"Ok Fawn I'm going to go have fun, and if you need a brake just ask." I say walking out of the hatchery.

Fawn nods and I go back to my room. I look out the window and realize it's getting dark. I change into my nightgown and let my hair down.

I go over to my chest and put the new satchel in. I take out the water dragon book and slip into bed. I light one candle and start to read.

So you found a water dragon. Water dragons are calm and easy going creatures.

The only time the get aggressive is when they are protecting their young or facing off with another dragon species, like fire dragons.

Water dragon mainly live in the water but they can come on land or fly in the skies if they need to.

They have more of a fish like body instead of your normal dragon body. Most water dragon species don't have legs.

Usually they will have fins and giant wings that allow them to glide through the water. Water dragons usually only mate with there own kind so double species are rare.

Water dragons usually are found in pods but you can find young males or females brake away from there pods and try to start there own.

Overall water dragons are calm and kind. They don't like fire and are closets to earth dragons.

I close the book and let out a yawn. Today has been a crazy day and I'm ready for some sleep. I put the book up and blow out my candle.

I lay back down and close my eyes. I let myself dream of all the new dragons that I might meet tomorrow.
