I woke up to a subtle warmth on my face and rapidly blinked my eyes open to look through the screen door to the backyard where the sun was shining over the treetops. I yawned tiredly and laid there for a moment before realizing the familiar pressure pressed against my legs was gone, I sat up quickly and looked at the spot where Macy had fallen asleep beside me last night, she was gone. I sprung up off the couch and ran into the other side of the living room to hear a worried voice,

"Belle? What's wrong?" Macy asked I looked to the side to see her standing in the kitchen with a glass of orange juice in her hand. I immediately relaxed before replying

"Oh, sorry. You were gone when I woke up and I thought you had maybe left or something like that" I walked over towards her while glancing to the side, a bit embarrassed by my overreaction.

"Oh, no I just woke up and was really thirsty... I hope you don't mind that I-" I cut her off

"No it's fine you can have anything you want," I said eagerly, she nodded in response before taking a few gulps of the drink.

I walked behind her to the pantry and took out a granola bar and offered her one as well,

"Sure" she responded looking at my hand, I gave it to her before closing the pantry door and going over to stand beside her. We ate in a surprisingly comfortable silence and I wondered if it was because of last night, my wolf was much less eager to touch her now so she must have been satisfied with our cuddling last night. I smirked slightly just at the thought and ducked my head down slightly so she didn't notice, after finishing our food I threw away both of our wrappers. I was about to go get changed but realized Macy had nothing to change into either, and my clothes were a little bit baggy on her as well from the sweatshirt and sweatpants she was wearing that belonged to me... for now at least.

"How about we go check on the pack right now, and then I'll take you out so we can buy you some clothes"

My parents could wait,

"Um, s-sure" she responded unsurely, I took a wild act and grabbed her hand and before I could see her expression I lead our the front door and to the camp area. She walked beside me swiftly, while looking from side to side at the members walking past, giving some odd looks but I looked towards them with a warning glare. I spotted Jasper and wanted to avoid him but I had to be the bigger person and take care of my pack, I walked over towards him and he turned towards me with a blank expression,

"Morning Alpha," he said casually

"Good morning Jasper" I responded looking over his shoulder at the camp, I let go of Macy's hand and she stood beside me silently.

"How are things going so far?" I asked looking into his eyes,

"Good, I sent out a patrol not too long ago towards the east" he replied,

"Nothing else?" I questioned,

"No, I was going to send out one to the west as well" his voice lowered slightly.

"Send out one to the North and they can rotate towards the west, make sure they mark the border well since that rival pack seems to be getting closer and closer by the day," I said sharply,

"Of course" he responded obediently,

"I'm going out with Macy, we should be back soon" I grabbed Macy's hand again.

"Alright" I could tell he wanted to talk about other things as well but I wasn't in the mood to hear him talk about what I should be doing, like going to introduce my mate to my parents.

I turned away from him to walk back towards the house, my car was parked off to the side slightly and I stopped at the steps to the front porch to look at my mate.
