Jax Harper had never believed in the existence of demons, or werewolves, or monsters; until he became one. On a full moon night, after he shifted uncontrollably beyond his will, he woke up the next day covered in blood. Blood that was not his own. It didn't take long for him to realize that he had turned into a monster, one that can kill a person in a blink of an eye without so much of a fight. And with the Clave now wanting him dead, he ran away from his home in Manhattan, leaving his family behind for their own safety.
He somehow ended up in Brooklyn where he met Jocelyn Fray, a shadowhunter who was also on the run herself. She took him in and gave him a home, she taught him what there is to know about their world and in return, Jax gave the Jocelyn and her daughter his protection. But when Jocelyn is kidnapped and Clary is thrown into a world she didn't even knew existed, Jax somehow found himself helping a group of shadowhunters, despite his reluctance.
Although he's not complaining if it meant he got to spend more time with a certain raven haired archer.

I do not own Shadowhunters (either the tv show or the book series) or it's general plot and characters, they belong to their own respective owners. I do, however, own Jax, his family, the plot of this book, and any other characters that you normally don't find in the franchise.

Yes, I am well aware that I am very late to the fandom. And if the summary isn't clear enough, I will not be changing Alec's sexuality in this book. If you can't respect that then what are you even doing here. This is my first attempt at writing a book so there will be mistakes and I apologize in advance for that. Constructive criticism is welcome but please differentiate between criticism and being straight up rude. That's all that I have to say I guess, hope you guys enjoy reading!
