"Okay, people, quiet down, we're here." Aizawa shut up the class and led us through a door.
Inside was some sort of fighting stadium,, like a boxing match arena but way bigger. "Now, I know most of you got some experience with one-on-one fighting during either the USJ incident or the sports festival. But while you're into your hero careers, most of your fights with villains will be with just you and them. So let's get started. First, the teams. The staff helped pick them."
A projector screen popped up.
SHOTO VS DEKU
URAVITY VS CREATI
FROPPY VS PINKY
RED RIOT VS CHARGE BOLT
CANT STOP TWINKLING VS TSUKUYOMI
GRAPEBALLS VS INJENIUM
ANIMA VS SUGAR RUSH
KATSUKI VS EARPHONE JACK
TAIL MAN VS INVISIBLE GIRL
Everyone in my class had brought their gear, and I assumed they would change before they fought.
"Now, rules are simple. No killing one another." He looked pointedly at Bakugou. "I'm not in the mood to break up any fights today, so don't make me use my quirk on anyone, okay?"
There was a collective "Yes sir."
"Now go get changed and we'll get started."
Shoto nodded at me and went with Deku to change.
Not ten minutes later, everyone emerged from the locker rooms looking absolutely heroic. I felt a pang when I realized how long it had been since I was in my hero suit. I wasn't wearing it while I was fighting All for One, so it should have still been in my closet at the girl's dorm.
Deku's suit looked like it had been upgraded, too.
Kacchan plonked himself behind me on the bleachers to watch the matches before his, and rested his chin on my head. Shoto and Deku's match was first, and I hoped it wouldn't get too intense.
"Good luck, you guys!" I yelled down at them. I saw one end of Shoto's mouth twitch up in a smile, and Deku waved.
"So, who you rooting for?" Kirishima asked, coming over to sit next to me.
"Well, I... both?" I shrugged. "I don't want either of them to lose, I guess."
"Makes sense." He leaned back onto the bleacher behind him. "my match isn't for a while, so I should be able to watch a few."
I nodded, my eyes trained on the two boys in the ring. These two already fought at the sports festival, but since then, they've both gotten so much better. Shoto is used to his left side and Deku knows how to control his power now. I wonder how this one will turn out.
Kacchan shifted his weight, bringing his arms around my head and draping them on my shoulders. I rolled my eyes and sighed. He was so... possessive.
The fight began. Everyone was on the edge of their seats. Deku threw a punch, and Shoto blocked it. Shoto attacked, Deku dodged. The cycle repeated. Neither could land a blow on the other. I relaxed my shoulders and leaned back into Kacchan. This was going to be a long battle.
They had a limit of 30 minutes, and the time passed like a snail.
"Okay, time's up. Draw." Aizawa finally called it.
Shoto looked kinda pissed, but Deku looked relieved.
Ururaka won the next fight, because she sent all of Yayuroza's gadjets into the air. Deku and Shoto came to sit with me. Then, not surprisingly, Froppy won against Pinky, or Mina. The fights went on all day, until around 2:30 in the afternoon.
"Alright, Bakugou, you're up," I said, shoving him off of me. He stood up and stalked off down the steps and into the ring.
It took not three minutes for Bakugou to pound poor EJ's face into the ground.
"I think you all know what you need to work on for next week's combat training. Class dismissed." Aizawa zipped himself up in his sleeping bag and inched behind the podium.
The class began filing out. Since I had nothing better to do, I helped out Recovery Girl to put band-aids on the minor wounds my peers had received while fighting. Besides, since I could use her quirk too, I was practically a mini-her.
During the fights, Kaminari got scratched on his cheek. Froppy had a bit of sore skin after some of Ashido's acid had hit her. The weird fake french guy was complaining like a baby without a bottle, but he didn't get injured at all, from what I could tell, so I sent him on his way with a spongebob bandaid on his nose. Because it made him look ridiculous.
Kacchan came into my little corner and reluctantly showed me a deep knick in his arm where EJ had managed to hit him. I scolded him jokingly while I cleaned and wrapped his arm.
"Tsch, Kacchan, injured by a girl?"
"Shut up," He looked away, pouting.
"Just saying, it took the world's worst villain to land a hit on me, and--"
Without warning, Kacchan leaned forward, and... kissed me. My eyes flew wide, releasing my grip on his arm. His eyes were closed. It wasn't a malicious gesture, but instead... uncharacteristically gentle. His lips were soft.
He slowly pulled away. "And it took the world's best hero to have the guts to do that."
My cheeks were burning, and I looked down, furious.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I grumbled.
Kacchan lifted my chin to his level and smirked.
Then he stood up and walked out of the room without another word.
I stared at the door he had gone out of, catching my breath. What the hell, Kacchan?
OMGoodness. I know this chapter is short but aghhhh the feels!
Fly on,
Kendall
