Chapter 2

Quinn

"Ah Quinn." Alpha Grayson stepped into my path. "Are you busy today too?"

"I told you I don't have time for marriage and babies. I'm heading off to college soon and I need to concentrate." I stepped around him.

"I haven't said anything yet about babies. But if you want some, I'm happy to give you mine." He said.

I rolled my eyes.

"Listen Quinn. It's been four years since I asked you to marry me." He said. "This pack needs a Luna and I need a mate."

"Then maybe you should find someone who has the time to settle down." I said.

"I don't want anyone else." He said.

My phone started to ring.

I looked at the screen. "Oh I have to take this."

I turned around and walked away.

When I picked up, Violet voice filled my ears. "I saw you from the balcony and figured you could use some help."

"Thanks for that." I said. "Thank god we'll be off to college in a week."

"I know right." She said and I heard a sad whimper in the background. "Really River. We've been over this. You can come see me."

"It's not that I won't come and see you. It's that I won't be able to protect you from all the guys there." He said.

"Aw. You're so cute." She said.

"Hashtag, can't relate." I said.

"You'll find your mate. I can feel it in my gut." She said.

"It's been years, Violet." I said.

I haven't given up but Leia is starting to lose hope.

"You will find your mate." She said firmly. "Now get some good clothes on so we can meet up with everyone later."

"Ok." I said and hung up.

'Leia?' I asked.

'Our mate is coming for us.' She said immediately.

Today is my twentieth birthday. It's been exactly four years since my sixteenth birthday and I still haven't found my mate.

Alpha Grayson is still hell-bent on having me as his wife. He's gone as far as to ask my parents for their blessings.

He's tried following me to try and cut me off. But much to Leia's dismay I rolled in the mud to mask my scent and I lost him.

Violet's played a huge role in these last four years. Helping me avoid him.

Now we've decided to go to college where I can start fresh. Because her gut feeling told her that I wasn't going to find my mate by standing still.

"Mom!" I shouted. "I'm home."

"Can you please stop yelling?" My sister said, sipping her drink slowly. "I have a horrible headache."

"Skylar!" I said, hugging her exitedley.

"Hey sis." She punched my arm. "That's your first birthday lick."

I ignored the throb in my arm and looked around. "Are Logan and June here too?"

"Can't I come see my family by myself?" She asked.

"Sorry." I said. "Want to run with me?"

"Well I haven't had the time since June was born." She said. "I guess so."
