Chapter 56 -
An Unexpected Call Of Unconsciousness
×××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××You and Varian walked around the village with pouches full of mini chemballs that hydrate plants. The ones that grew the withered flowers back to life. Of course it can only help the plants that haven't completely died.
Rudiger ran around you two with a small pouch strapped to him. He would go to any random withering flower and drop a small chemball.
The two of you paid no mind to him while Varian held a paper, mapping out the places of the village that needed this stuff.
Some of the villagers had nothing to do with what they call, “Infiltrating Disaster”, though some of them kindly thanked Varian for helping them.
You glance at Varian to see him smiling happily while marking off spots on his map. You smiled softly. He would make a great leader once he's sorted things out with himself.
Varian looks over and raises a brow at you, grinning sheepishly, “What?”
You giggle, “Nothing.” You hum and decided on a tiny test, “I'm just surprised you're still content after some of the villagers didn't want your help.”
Varian shrugs, smiling still, “So? I'm still glad at least a few are appreciating what I'm offering. If they don't want my help then that's their problem, but if they really need it, I'll be willing to help.”
He was getting there and that made you happy.
“Is this something you're trying to prove to your dad?”
“Surprisingly, no. I just feel good when I do help someone. Especially when I help with my abilities.” He gestures to the pouches.
“It does feel good when you help.” You poke the side of his face and giggle.
Varian pokes back, then wraps an arm around you, “Should we head back after this last stop?”
You nod and notice Rudiger’s pouch is empty. Swiftly, you pick him up and raise a brow, “Rudiger, what did you with all your chemballs?”
He just smiles and purrs, hugging your face.
You roll your eyes, chuckling and place him on Varian’s shoulders. “There. A boy and his companion.”
Varian laughs, “Yeah. Still can't believe I love this little guy after I loathed him for awhile.” He scratches behind Rudiger's ear as the raccoon chitters.
As soon as you two were done, you head back to Varian's and see Quirin out in the field again. He looked like he was trying shoo off to rabbits that were getting at the cabbages.
You and Varian stare and couldn't help, but laugh at his dad's attempt to chase the fast fluffy creatures.
“I'm going to go help him. I'll be right back.” Varian says and runs out to the field.
Rudiger had hopped onto your shoulders now.
Now you and Rudiger were watching the son and father run around the big field. You laughed since it looked so funny for some reason to you.
At one point, Quirin caught a white rabbit, but it squirmed until it jump from his head and knocked Varian over who was behind Quirin.
You walk over toward a small patch of unusual grass, pulling a handful before walking over and giggle, “Rabbits.”
