"DO YOU WANNA HANG OUT today?" I ask Kara when I stroll into her cluttered room.

"I'm really busy today. How about tomorrow?" She asks apologetically.

"No problem!" I chirp, walking out. Guess that's the problem with successful friends; they don't have enough time to hang out. I'm not bitter or anything.

I go down to the lobby where I'm greeted by a familiar face.

"What's up, Si?" I ask, taking a seat next to him.

"Nothing really," he answers. "Doors opening. Doors closing. Cute girls passing by. Cute girls stopping here."

"You flatter me," I say with a chuckle as blush creeps up my cheeks. "Isn't your job super boring though?"

"Definitely. But the pay is good. Lots of rich and famous people live here," he answers. "Are you one of them?"

"In my dreams I am. In reality I'm not. I'm highkey failing my music career so I'm staying here with my friend," I say.

"Kara, if I remember correctly?" He asks.

"Very good memory, Mr. Simon!" I cheer.

"Gladwell. Simon Gladwell," he says, acting like James Bond.

"Thompson. Amber Thompson," I copy him. We erupt into laughter. This is probably the most I've fit in here in this building of rich and successful people. Just another "commoner" like me.

"You are quite funny, Ms. Thompson," he says.

"You are quite happy, Mr. Gladwell," I retort.

"It's in my name!" he defends himself as I chuckle.

"Hey, Amber!" Daniel says as he walks back in.

"Hey, Dani! Or should I say Spidey Dani?" I tease him about the day we speculated about his spidey sense.

"Dani is fine," he says, giggling. "Hey, Simon."

"Hi, Mr. Seavey," Simon says formally.

"I've told you repeatedly to call me 'Daniel'!" Daniel whines like a child.

"I know! I'm just kidding," Simon says. "Tryna be funny like Ms. Thompson here. Or should I say, Bambi?"

" 'Bambi' is better, to be honest," I reply as we all chuckle.

"Do you want me to show you where everyone else lives?" Daniel asks me politely.

"Yes, Mr. Seavey," I say, saluting him. Simon laughs at my childish behavior and I wink at him while Daniel rolls his eyes.

"Come on," Daniel responds, walking to the elevator. "We'll see Zach and Jack first."

"Is Jachary real?" I ask excitedly.

"If only. They're just roommates," he sighs. We walk out into the hallway and stop at a door. Daniel knocks and a sleepy Zach opens it.
