Benny Lafitte

I set in front of Benny as he started to make gumbo. I smiled as he turned to face me and handed my a bowl.

"So Cher what have you been up to?" Benny asked smiling at me.

"Been a little bit of everywhere." I said with a laugh.

"Seeing anyone?" He asked with a smile.

"Not really." I said with a smile.

I laughed as I talked to him some more and then walked to my car and tried to start it. I groaned as it wouldn't start. I felt a tap on my window and looked over to see Benny. I open the door and smiled at him softly.

"Car problems darlin?" He asked with a smile.

"Yea seems it won't start." I said laughing.

"Come on I'll give you a lift home." He said helping me into his car.

We drove to my place and I got out of his car and smiled.

"Wanna come inside for a little bit?" I asked softly.

"Sure." He said smiling at me.

We walked inside and I got two mugs and made some coffee. I handed him a mug and smiled as we set on my couch.

"So how are you liking it here?" I asked with a smile.

"Feels like home." He said with a chuckle.

I smiled as we talked for awhile and then I stood up and went to grab another cup for us both.

"Thanks for the hospitality." Benny said standing up.

"You don't have to leave already." I said putting the mugs down.

"I really can't stay." He said bitting his lip.

"Benny what's going on with you?" I asked softly.

"Nothing." He said calmly.

I walked up to him and accidentally nicked over a glass. I bent down and picked up some of the pieces and accidentally cut my finger.

"Dang it." I said grabbing my finger and squeezing it.

I heard a low growl and looked up to see Benny looking at my finger.

"Are you okay Benny?" I asked softly.

"I'm.... fine Cher." He said looking away.

"Benny... when was the last time you fed?" I asked softly.

"About.... a week ago." He said keeping his eye on the door.

I grabbed a knife and cut my wrist a little and he turned and looked at me shocked.

"Drink." I said softly.

"I.... I can't.." He said bitting his lip.

"Benny you need to feed. Now go ahead I trust you." I said walking up to him.

He took on look at the blood and his mouth was on my wrist. I groaned as he dug into my arm and drank from it. I bit my lip trying not to whimper or scream. I started to feel lightheaded and after a few seconds he pulled away from me. He licked his lips and looked at me with a frown.

"I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry." He said backing away from me.

"Benny it's okay. I asked you too." I said grabbing his hand and stopping him.

"I didn't.... I didn't want to hurt you..... I'm sorry.... darling I'm so sorry." He said pulling away.

I grabbed a hold of his face and pulled him down into a kiss. He kissed me back at first and then he pulled away from me and looked down at me in shock.

"I...... I have to go." He said walking away.

I set on my couch as he walked out of the house and I placed my head in my hands. The next night I went to Guidry's Gumbo Shack and Benny wasn't there. For the next week he didn't go to work and after awhile I realized he wasn't coming back. Two weeks later I walked into my house to see a man. I grabbed my gun and pointed it at him.

"Who the hell are you and why are you in my house!" I snapped glaring at him.

"Been awhile Cher." The man said.

He turned to face me and I looked at him shocked.

"Benny? What are you doing here?" I asked shocked.

"Came to check on you. Sorry it's been awhile." He said softly.

"Sorry? Sorry! That's all I get! You have been gone for nearly a month! No word no nothing! I was worried to death about you!" I snapped glaring at him.

"Something happen and I had to leave. I'm sorry. I couldn't help it." He said walking up to me.

"Something happen! You couldn't have called and said hi I'm leaving see you later! I thought the worse! I thought.... I thought you had been killed." I said as tears streamed down my face.

"Darlin I'm sorry but I couldn't tell you anything. I didn't want you to get hurt. I'm sorry...... your right I should have at least said I was okay." He said gently pulling me closer to him.

I hugged him tightly and breathed in his scent as he hugged me.

"I was so worried that I lost you." I said through tears.

"Listen.... Cher I can't stay. I.... got into some trouble here and I have to leave. I just came to say goodbye." He said sadly.

"But I don't wanna say goodbye to you..... take me with you. Please I am begging you Benny..... don't leave me alone again." I said looking up at him.

"Cher...... (y/n)... I can't god I wish I could but I can't. I'm a monster and I won't hurt you. I can't hurt you." He said looking down at me.

"Kiss me and then say I mean nothing to you." I said softly.

"What?" He asked confused.

"If you can kiss me and say it means nothing then you can leave, but if you can't then take me with you." I said softly.

He looked down at me and searched my eyes. I let out a sigh and looked away before looking back at me and taking my face in his hands and leaning down and pressing his lips to mine. I smiled as I moved my hand up and kissed him back pulling him closer. He pulled away and looked down at me.

"It meant nothing." He said pulling away from me.

I felt tears stream down my face as I looked away.

"It meant everything." He said forcing me to look up at him.

I looked at him shocked as he kissed me again. I groaned as I kissed him back and he picked me up and walked to my bedroom.
