Unexpected Guest

"Our last guest of tonight is an academy award nominee and is the famous Doctor Strange. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Benedict Cumberbatch," Jimmy Kimmel introduced. The crowd began to clap, as did you.

You sat beside one of the cameras, all the way up front. Most of the audience clapped and cheered as Ben appeared on stage. You only smiled as you saw your handsome boyfriend smile and wave.

You remembered how nervous he was to go up there again. He's done it plenty of times with Jimmy and other tv hosts, but he was especially nervous for that interview. Backstage, you attempted to calm his nerves and promised that everything was going to go great; like it always does.

The people began to whistle and clap, they went wild for him. He slightly bowed a little and unbuttoned the green velvet jacket you picked out for him. Ben was dressed more casually than ever, he had that jacket, his preferred blue T-shirt, jeans and his tennis shoes.

Ben and Jimmy shook hands. "Wow, the crowd just keeps getting wilder and wilder, don't they?" Jimmy started out. "Ehh, yeah they do," Ben rubbed the palms of his hands on his jeans and shyly smiled. "What do you think was the breaking point in your career that went to everybody recognizing you in the streets?" Jimmy leaned on his forearm as he asked his first question.

"Well I've got to give most of the credit to Sherlock, it's the one that gave me my facial recognition across the globe. It's phenomenal but it may get crazy from time to time," Ben, surprisingly, gave a short answer. You thought he must've been really nervous since he didn't elaborate on his answer.

"Yeah I bet it does," Jimmy said in his usual friendly voice, the crowd laughed, "And now with you being Doctor Strange things are just getting higher and higher for you buddy." Ben chuckled, "You're making me sound like a rookie, but, in all honesty, I feel that when I entered the MCU."

"I heard that Robert Downy Jr. was very welcoming," Jimmy pipped in. "Oh he was. RDJ was a very welcoming and helpful when I had the chance to talk with him. He's an extraordinary person," Ben smiled. Jimmy got a picture from his desk and showed it to the audience and Ben; it was Ben in his costume, trying his best to laugh a certain way because of his stick on goatee.

"Oh God," Ben looked at the picture and laughed. You remember you took the picture and posted it on Instagram. "We can see you had fun on set," Jimmy looked over the picture. "It was tons of fun. The cast and crew were just amazing and it was always a great time with them. Also, my girlfriend was with me during the months I was filming. She went to Nepal, New York and the other places we visited to film the movie. I'm happy to have someone by my side every single step of the way," Ben glanced over at you.

The crowed awed, it made you slightly blush. "You know, you've got a lovely girlfriend. We met backstage and she was so kind and amazing," Jimmy also looked towards you. "Yeah, that's why she's my favorite person in this world," he turned to the cameras, "Mum, dad, now don't get offended," he turned back to you, "but she's my whole universe." There was a broad smile on your lips, you then blew a small kiss to him.

"You two seem very in love. Sorry for asking a question that's not my business, but how come I don't see a ring on her finger?" Jimmy asked and pointed to his ring finger. Ben slightly smiled. Jimmy turned his gaze back to you, "[Y/n], what do you think about that?"

You began to get nervous, you've never been on the spotlight. Jimmy expected you to answer to the crowd and tv. Someone jogged to your spot and handed you a microphone. You didn't need to lie to answer the question, "I don't need a ring from him to show me that he loves me. I know he loves me as much as I love him. With or without ring, I love him immensely." The crowd awed. Ben never took his eyes off of you.

"Isn't she wonderful," Jimmy talked to the crowd. Ben then said, "Actually, Jimmy would you mind if she..," he trailed off and spread his arm towards you. "No, not at all," Jimmy replied. Ben got up from his seat and walked towards you. The crowd began to cheer as you grounded yourself on the seat, not wanting to intrude the interview.

"Ben what are you doing?" you whispered to him when he got there. "Showing the world how much I love you," Ben helped you stand up. He pecked your temple before walking you up on stage. The crowd cheered as you and him walked up. Ben stopped his movements in front of Jimmy's desk.

All cameras were pointed your way. Ben held you close to his body, he was very aware of the cameras recording everything. Ben placed his forehead on top of yours and held both of your hands. "I've been meaning to do something, but I've wanted it to be phenomenal, unforgettable, and truly memorable  than anything I've ever done or given to you. I know you don't like many surprises, attention, and over extraordinary things, but I can't wait anymore," Ben paused as he looked down to your hands and back up to your eyes.

"You are the woman I love, the only woman of my dreams, the one that holds my heart," you could feel his finger slightly grazing your bare ring finger. The crowd was silent during his speech. "You're the sun that lights up my world every time I see you smile, hear your laugh, your voice, feel your touch. Everything you do, it elicits a special happiness in me. Just everything about you is bloody gorgeous and perfect. I want you to be part of my life for the rest of eternity. I want to wake up every morning and see you by my side. I love you so much and I will never get tired of reminding you how much you mean to me. [Y/n]...will you marry me?" Ben got down on one knee.

Tears had formed in your eyes as he gave his speech to you. Your hands moved to your mouth as you saw Ben on his knee and his hand reached for a small box inside the pocket of his jeans. The crowd waited in anticipation, Jimmy leaned forward on his desk, the band members itched closer to hear what you had to say. Tears prickled your eyes, your heart was beating at the speed of light.

You were oblivious of your surroundings, you cupped Benedict's face, "Yes..yes!" The second time you said it much louder. The crowed cheered as did Jimmy. The band played joyful tunes. Benedict stood up to hug you and passionately kiss you. "That's all we have to for tonight, thank you. Please give another big round of applause to the newly engaged," Jimmy spoke over the claps.

Ben was putting on the ring on your finger. You cupped his face once more and gave him a deep, loving sensational kiss.
