14. The Tutor

"Skating rink?" I said dumfounded. I hate skating rinks. I can never stay up and constantly fall. I have to have one of those walker things that make you look like a grandmother.

"Oh relax Gracie. It'll be fun." Rose said.

I sighed and we all got out and went inside.

We got our skates and went out to the rink.

"Let's go you guys!" Rose said cheerfully. Her and Ryan began skating. I stepped onto the ice and almost fell. I kind of held onto the side and moved over so Carson could get in. Maybe it can be like one of those cliché romantic things where he helps hold me up while I skate.

I looked over at him. Nope, I don't think that's going to happen. He slipped and fell the minute his skate touched the ice. I sighed and scooted on the wall back to him. "Want to try and tackle this together?"

"Yeah, maybe that will work, because I don't think I'm going anywhere by myself."

I chuckled and held my hand out to him. He took it and grabbed the wall next to me. "Want to get a walker?"

"Yes, very much."

We got one and shared it.

We held on and skated around slowly.

I was laughing and actually having a pretty good time. Especially when Carson decided to let go of the walker and tackle skating by himself. He lasted a good three seconds before landing on his butt.

I laughed at him. Snorting in the process which in turn made him start cracking up at me. Sort of a win/lose situation for the both of us.

I skated over with the walker and helped him up.

Ryan and Rose later skated over to us. They're actually pretty good so they were nonchalantly holding hands.

She smiled at us. "So how's it going you guys?"

I glared up at her. "You know I can't skate."

"Yes, well, I had hoped Carson could, but looks like that's not happening. Want to go bowling in a bit?"

"Fine."

After a little while we finally left and went to the bowling alley. I know for a fact that Rose and Ryan suck at bowling, so here's my chance to shine after the awful skating rink fiasco.

We started the game and it was Carson and I versus Ryan and Rose.

Ryan went first. Gutter ball.

Then it was Carson's turn. We decided the guys should go first.

Strike. My mouth fell open. "What the heck?! I didn't know you could bowl!"

"Yeah, well there's a lot I can do. Now let's see what you got." He kissed me on the cheek.

I piped up, "Loser buys dinner!"

"Hey! That's not fair! Your boyfriends is a kick ass bowler! Mine can't hit a pin from two feet away."

"Hey!" Ryan said. She turned to him and shrugged.

"Well...that's just too bad."

"Fine, we'll play your cheater game, but loser gets to pick the place too."

"Alright deal."

The whole game was so much fun. We tried to mess each other up, and our boyfriends would grab our waists right before going and bowling, and in the end....Ryan and Rose won. I couldn't believe it, but we were doing so well at first, but then we lost it and they got it.

Carson and I blamed each other and Rose and Ryan just laughed. But guess where we went for dinner. Taco Bell! Cheap and easy. (That's what he said.)

After dinner we went back to my house and started a movie.

Rose and I were all cuddled up to our boyfriends. Then about halfway through Rose left to go get dome stuff from my room. Not sure.

Then Carson said he was going to go get something to drink and eat from the kitchen. They both left and so then came the awkward silence with Ryan and me.

"Listen, Gracie, I'm sorry, for what I said a couple days ago. I feel bad for putting you in that position."

"Oh, just the awkward, my best friend's boyfriend still has feelings for me when I have a boyfriend, thing."

"Yeah, I feel really bad about that because, you know I really do care about Rose and I think it didn't come across like that."

"It really didn't."

"I'm happy you have Carson, he's a great guy and I'm happy to be your friend, so let's kind of put that whole awkward thing behind us please."

I smiled. "Alright."

We shook hands and then Rose and Carson came waltzing back in.

We finished the movie and Rose and Ryan had to leave because they still have school tomorrow.

Carson and I went up to my room and sort of relaxed for a little while and listened to some music.

Finally we both fell asleep happily.

"Bye Gracie! I'm going to miss you so much!" Rose said hugging me.

"We're going to miss you too hunny!" My aunts and uncles all gave me a hug. My cousins ignored me and just said goodbye to Carson. It was slightly comical.

Marta strutted over. "Goodbye Carson. It was so great to meet you. I'm going to miss you."

"Bye Marta." Then he turned and walked away.

"Wait! Carson, don't I get a hug."

He gave her a funny look and just said, "No." And walked over to me and kissed my cheek.

He winked at me and I smiled triumphantly.

After all the not so heartwarming goodbyes Carson and I got on a plane back to the school.

After hours of sitting on a plane we finally landed. We people watched the whole time. It was slightly entertaining.

We got off and got our luggage.

Carson flagged down a taxi and we rode back to the school.

"Alright, do you want to meet at the little coffee shop after we get a little settled in?" I asked.

"Yeah, that's perfect. How about in like forty five minutes."

"Okay."

We went to our rooms and I unpacked all my things.

Forty five minutes later I was walking up to the little coffee shop.

"Gracie!"

I turned around and saw Carson, I walked up to him. "So, want to get a coffee?"

"Um...how about we got the opposite way then go get a coffee later?"

"Carson, I want coffee now."

"Gracie, please be reasonable."

"Why? Why can't I have my coffee?"

He sighed. "Can I tell you when were a safe dis-"

"Carson!" I heard a girl yell from behind me. I turned around and a tall brunette girl was walking up. She was gorgeous.

He gave a hesitant smile. "Hi Maya."
