The next day, I'm at the park with Ashton who is playing with the other kids. I'm with Jake and Bella and I just explained the situation with social services to them.
"So they can take Ashton away, that is not okay! Bella says
"Why don't we talk to a lawyer?" Jake says
"That is a good idea" I say slightly peaked up
"Let me talk to someone I know" Jake says getting up to make the call while I make googly eyes at Ashton.
He comes running towards me and says,
"Uncle Harvey, want juice" he says smiling
Bella lifts him up onto her laps while I get him juice from the bag.
Jake comes back and tells me,
"The lawyer is free to meet you tomorrow" Jake says
"Thanks man" I tell Jake.
At the lawyers
Bella and Jake escorted me to the lawyer as my support and I really appreciated it. Ashton was with a friend of Bella till we could pick him up.
"Basically you would have a strong case because you are the boy's uncle and normally blood relatives are the best option. The issue is that we need to demonstrate that you can fully provide financially for the kid which will be a little difficult considering your business is just new and not making much" the lawyer explains
"But it is picking up" I protest
"Yes but they will consider the immediate welfare of the child and you are not married or in a steady relationship which would greatly shift all cards in your favor and help you in adopting immediately " he says
"Unfortunately, Harvey is not dating anyone seriously" Bella says
"Would it really help me get Ashton if I was in a serious relationship ? I don't want to give him up. I want to raise him like my own son, he is the only family I have left" I say
"Yes, it would indicate that Harvey will be in a stable home which all children require for proper growth and development" the lawyer says
"What are we going to do Harvey ? They can't take our Ashton, we love him" Bella says
"Uhhh....I think there is still an option " I say tentatively
"Do you have some secret husband stashed away?" Jake asks
"Actually yes" I say
Chairs scrap loudly across the floor as three shocked people stand up all eyes on me.
"What!" They all ask with varying degrees of shock
"Remember that night in Vegas i was away the whole night? I kinda got drunk and married a guy" I say
"Are you serious man?" Jake asks
"Harvey! How? You didn't say anything! Who are you married to?" She asks shocked
"Well, legally, Am not Harvey Klein but Harvey Andrate Solte" I say
"You are married to the Damien Andrate Solte! Harvey are you on drugs?" Jake asks
"No i swear we are married!" I assure them
"Is the marriage consumated?" the lawyer asks
I blush and nod my head.
"Harvey! In one night you get married to a world famous Hollywood actor and hook up!" She exclaims
"Wonders shall never end!" Jake whistles
"A rich husband, this solidifies our case, I can almost assure you that we will get custody of Ashton, can you bring your husband along of for our next meeting?
" the lawyer says very pleased.
"Oh oh!" I say
"What?" Jake and Bella ask
