The sun rose, gently peeking through the curtains of the Head's Common room.

The two had fallen asleep in their beds in the early morning. Hermione was the first to awake, she had gotten her clothes prepared – as she opened the door of the bathroom, Draco was brushing his teeth – shirtless – nonetheless. Her eyes took notice of his defined abs, and how his arms tensed as he held the toothbrush.

He was a work of art.

Still a ferret.

But a gorgeous ferret at that.

Draco smirked at the brunette through the mirror, she rolled her eyes.

"I'll be taking a shower, so if you may, please hurry," Hermione said impatiently. Her eyes were now focused on him, not his - body. He washed his face and walked toward her.

"I was in the bathroom first, meaning, I will be taking a shower before you." He said. He was still smirking at her.

"Draco, you've been in here for quite some time!  You've had plenty of time to take a shower!" Her voice was now beginning to rise. She was annoyed. He was now directly in front of her. His jaw clenched, his eyes took the form of irritation – his smirk diminishing.

"I'm not sure if it has gone through your thick head just yet, but I was here first!" He said through gritted teeth. His grey orbs were now full of anger.

Hermione threw her hands in the air in defeat.

"You- You little ferret! Take that shower before I hex you into oblivion." And with that, she walked into her room, slamming the door shut. Leaving the blond-haired boy staring at the place where Hermione had stood.

Hermione's POV

I had entered potions with Ginny, seeing the two Slytherin boys sitting in their normal seats, I glared at the ferret, taking a seat behind them.

The class had begun, Ginny was now sitting next to me, she seemed tired.

"Are you okay, Ginny?" I asked, worried about my friend, considering she is always in high spirits.

"I'm just a little tired. I've been up all night - thinking about things," She smiled softly. Her eyes were red; she must've been crying.

"What sort of things?" I questioned, she looked down at her books. "About you and Harry?" She gave me a weak nod. I sent my best friend a smile. "All will fall into place soon, Gin." Ginny smiled back at me.

"You're probably right."

As Ginny and I were talking, I hadn't noticed what Slughorn had said.

"Partners; Hermione Granger and Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson and Draco Malfoy," I had stopped reading after I read the first four names that were painted on the board in white chalk.

Fantastic. Ginny was partnered with Neville. She smiled and moved to the seat beside him.

"Zabini," He turned around with a clenched jaw, "You should probably move here," I said to Blaise, the two Slytherins turned around, muttering something under their breath.

Draco stood up and sat beside me.

"It was you or Parkinson." He stated, his eyes focused on the board. I rolled my eyes in frustration.

"What a hard choice, thought you would've wanted to be with her instead. Considering you two are the best of friends." I said, smirking at the agitated boy beside me.
