I've realized that it was never you,
that made the leaves grow on trees.
Your stares were nothing more
than the mixing of chemicals,
the answers to the questions,
on your mind.
Your reptile eyes,
were like his pair of glasses,
when he stood,
in front of me,
with his tousled hair.
You never liked me.
It was your friend,
the one with the bright green shorts,
And the friendly, loving smile.
He has dreamt of making forts,
With me,
his last resort,
To hug onto my body for miles.
