Alright alright BUT Halt was Clonmel's crownprince. Which meant that he DEFINITELY had to attend swordsmanship lessons. Sure, he skipped a lesson or two but he couldn't skip all lessons. So he must be pretty decent with a sword.
Can we all just take one second to imagine the following:
Gilan's Halt's apprentice. He's just returned from his regular swordsmanship lessons. He's practicing, outside. Halt's sitting against a tree, reading who knows what, seemingly not paying any attention to Gilan. And then, all of a sudden, Halt says, deadpan: "Twist your sword a bit more " and Gilan is S H O O K .
